The Wyatt Sicks are officially reuniting in public for the first time since WWE released the group following WrestleMania 42.
WrestleCon took to Twitter and announced that the entire Wyatt Sicks lineup will appear during WWE SummerSlam weekend in Minneapolis for a three-day convention appearance running from July 31 through August 2.
The appearance will feature Bo Dallas under the name Taylor Rotunda, Nikki Cross using the name Nikki Storm, Dexter Lumis returning to Samuel Shaw, Erick Rowan once again using Erick Redbeard, and Joe Gacy now going by Joseph Sawyer.
The announcement immediately got fans talking because the group was only released by WWE on April 24, making this the first officially announced post-WWE appearance for all five members together.
The news comes shortly after Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE internally believed the Wyatt Sicks concept had reached its ceiling creatively following its initial success as a tribute tied closely to Bray Wyatt. Meltzer explained that some within WWE believed the gimmick limited how the performers could evolve over time.
“It was just felt that the group had run its course. It was basically a tribute to Bray Wyatt and was over big at first but it was limiting how they could be used with that gimmick over the long haul.”
Bottom line: WWE may have decided the Wyatt Sicks had reached the end of the road creatively, but the group is already preparing for life after WWE together — and fans will officially see them reunited again during SummerSlam weekend in Minneapolis.
Do you think the Wyatt Sicks should stay together outside WWE, or would the members be better off reinventing themselves separately after the release? Leave your thoughts and feedback below.
