Ashley Massaro’s name isn’t coming anywhere near the WWE Hall of Fame right now — and the reason why just got spelled out.
With ongoing legal issues, including the Janel Grant lawsuit and resurfaced allegations connected to Massaro’s past, WWE is reportedly staying far away from anything that could bring that situation back into the spotlight. Now, a new report has made that stance crystal clear. Speaking during a Q&A session on March 23, 2026, WrestleVotes was asked directly if Ashley Massaro could ever be inducted — and the response immediately shut the door.
“Would Ashley Massaro ever be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame? No. We can all understand that answer. There’s still a lawsuit out there, and it’s not going to happen anytime soon — shedding light on things they do not want talked about.”
That directly ties the decision to the ongoing legal and public scrutiny surrounding WWE and Vince McMahon, suggesting the company has zero interest in reopening that conversation on a major stage. WrestleVotes then added more context about how WWE is currently handling Hall of Fame selections, pointing out a noticeable shift in how limited the classes have become.
“You see how small these Hall of Fame classes are now becoming, and Massaro won’t be in the mix for something like that.”
They also addressed the personal side of Massaro’s story — acknowledging her tragic death in 2019 while explaining how that factors into WWE’s decision-making. But according to WrestleVotes, that same reality is also part of why WWE won’t move forward with honoring her.
“It’s tragic that she passed. It’s probably another case where, if she were alive, there might be a better chance. But the fact that she’s no longer with us — they don’t want to put that spotlight on someone who took their own life.”
From there, the focus shifted back to the bigger issue — the allegations themselves — and how they continue to influence WWE’s public-facing decisions. And ultimately, the reasoning comes down to optics and control — something WWE is reportedly prioritizing heavily right now.
“The allegations that are out there around WWE and Vince McMahon are not ones they want to rehash on a stage like that. It’s not the time or place for that sort of spotlight, and TKO doesn’t want to go that route.”
So at the end of the day, this isn’t just about Hall of Fame eligibility. It’s about timing, controversy, and a company that clearly doesn’t want to reopen one of its most sensitive chapters.
Do you think WWE should separate Ashley Massaro’s in-ring legacy from the controversy and still induct her, or is keeping her out of the Hall of Fame the right call right now? Drop your thoughts below and leave your feedback.
