LA Knight may finally be getting exactly what he demanded from Roman Reigns. After calling out the World Heavyweight Champion and demanding a clean one-on-one title match, WWE is now seriously considering making it happen at Money in the Bank.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight is currently on the table for Money in the Bank on October 10, with a “strong sense internally” that the championship match will take place at the PLE.
That would pay off what WWE started on the August 3 episode of RAW. Knight interrupted Reigns one night after Roman retained the World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam. He congratulated Roman for finally winning a major match without The Bloodline helping him before demanding the one thing he believes Reigns has avoided giving him: Roman alone.
Knight wanted no cousins, no backup and no excuses. He even named Money in the Bank as one of the places Reigns could finally face him. Roman never accepted. Instead, Reigns mocked Knight’s “Megastar” nickname, questioned what he had accomplished and dismissed the idea that beating members of his family in a six-man tag match made Knight worthy of challenging him.
Knight responded by going straight after Roman’s biggest weakness. He accused Reigns of hiding behind numbers for years and argued that holding the World Heavyweight Championship was the only reason anyone believed Roman was on another level. That confrontation now appears to have been leading somewhere.
Nothing has been officially announced, but WWE has Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight on the table, and the internal expectation is pointing toward October 10. Knight asked Roman to leave the family at home and fight him one-on-one. Money in the Bank may finally be where Roman has to answer him.
