Bron Breakker’s scary neck landing looked like the kind of thing that could get somebody in serious trouble backstage, but apparently WWE isn’t playing the blame game here. In fact, the word backstage is basically to no-sell the whole thing, hope Breakker is fine and move on.

During a recent Q&A, JoeyVotes and TC of WrestleVotes were asked what WWE’s reaction was after Breakker’s nasty fall at the October 17 live event. According to WrestleVotes, people backstage don’t seem interested in turning the accident into a bigger story than it already is.

“People backstage are like, ‘Let’s no-sell this a little bit and hope he’s done.’”

Breakker was teaming with Bronson Reed and Austin Theory against Oba Femi, LA Knight and Penta when everything went wrong. He tried going for his usual top-rope Frankensteiner on Knight, but Knight slipped out and Breakker came crashing down around his neck and upper body.

It looked brutal, and the referee immediately went over to check on him. Breakker somehow kept going and finished the match, but there still hasn’t been an official announcement from WWE about whether he suffered an injury.

WrestleVotes believes Breakker was almost certainly checked out after the match. At the same time, WWE apparently wants to get past the whole thing pretty quickly rather than keep drawing attention to it.

“I’m sure there were medical personnel checking on him. But at the same time, they want to get over this quickly.”

The biggest backstage detail, though, is that nobody is apparently taking the heat for what happened. WrestleVotes chalked it up as the kind of mistake that can happen during a house show and said there isn’t any heat on anyone involved.

“It was a house show — it was probably a simple sort of mistake. There’s no heat on anybody.”

For now, WWE apparently wants this to be nothing more than one very scary house show mistake. Nobody’s getting blamed, nobody’s catching heat, and if Breakker is okay, it sounds like the company would be more than happy to put the whole thing behind them.
