WWE SmackDown Results (5/1/26): Live Match Updates and Highlights
The show opens up with a video package looking at what transpired between Jacob Fatu and World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns from RAW.
Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett then welcomes us to the show as Cody Rhodes’ music hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Cody then grabs a mic and starts off by asking the fans what they want to talk about. Cody then says it is nice when we can give some new information and he has some. Cody then says earlier tonight he met with the medical staff and Nick Aldis to find out if he is medically cleared for action. Cody then says he is cleared for action. Cody then says that begets the question what’s next for him on Smackdown. Ricky Saints’ music then hits and he interrupts Cody.
Ricky then grabs a mic and starts off by saying the fans boo what they don’t understand. Ricky then says he is young, successful, rich and suave. Ricky then says he and Cody aren’t strangers to one another, but he knows that Cody feels the change in the air and that change is “The Revolution” that he’s leading. Ricky then says he is the man and i’s now Friday Night Saints, but Cody says he’s happy to have Saints on SmackDown. Cody then asks Ricky what the difference is between the last time that he stepped up to him and now and Ricky says it’s Cody’s state of health right now. Ricky then reminds Cody that he is a former NXT Champion and NXT North American Champion and he is here to relief Cody of his duties as Undisputed WWE Champion.
Cody then says Ricky pulled an easy thread and agrees to square off against Ricky in the ring. Both men then shake hands, but Ricky says he didn’t come to the ring to make a statement. Ricky then says he came to change what SmackDown is about. Cody then responds by telling Ricky he is easy to find and hard to beat.
We then take a look at what happened with Fatal Influence on last week’s show.
We then see Cathy Kelley with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. Cathy asks Charlotte about her match and the number’s advantage. Rhea Ripley then shows up and says she can answer that. Rhea then says she tried to take on Fatal Influence alone and she got ambushed. Rhea then says she will put her issues aside. Alexa then says she appreciates it, but Charlotte says they might have teamed before but not again. Rhea then points out the numbers situation. Alexa then says she appreciates it and Charlotte says she understands their alliance, but three’s a crowd.
Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss then make their way down to the ring for the first match of the night and Fatal Influence follows.
Jacy Jayne then cuts a promo and she says she has something to say and she expected that reaction. Jacy then says you got a little taste of what they are bringing to SmackDown. Jacy then says someone couldn’t get enough and she loves that. Jacy then says she thrives off that. Jacy then says if there is anything they like to do, it is embarrass a legend. Jacy then says they are going to take out your precious little legends one at a time. Jacy then says who better to start with than Charlotte Flair.
Singles Match: “The Queen” Charlotte Flair vs. Fatal Influence’s Jacy Jayne
The match starts off with both women locking up and they go into the corner. Flair then gives a clean break. Jacy then hits a knee, but Flair sends Jacy into the corner. Flair then hits some chops to the chest followed by a head lock. Jacy then sends Flair to the ropes, but Flair hits a shoulder tackle. Flair then goes to the ropes, but Jacy hits a right hand. Jacy then hits a hurricanrana. Jacy then grabs Flair, but Flair hits a right hand. Flair then trips Jacy down and she goes for the Figure Four, but Jacy kicks her away. Jacy then rolls to the outside of the ring, but she realizes that she is on the same side of the ring as Alexa.
Flair then holds the ropes for Jacy to return to the ring. Flair then cinches in a waist lock and she hits an elbow. Flair then hits a kick, but Reid distracts Flair and Jacy hits a thrust kick and she sends Flair into the ropes. Jacy then hits several punches and a cannonball for a near fall. Jacy then works on the neck and Flair hits some punches. Jacy then hits a knee and she cinches in a reverse chin lock. Flair then floats over on an Irish whip, but Jacy hits a back elbow for a near fall. Jacy then chokes Flair in the ropes. Jacy then hits a kick to the back and she cinches in a rear chin lock.
Jacy then gets on Flair’s back. but Flair sends Jacy into the turnbuckles to try to escape. Jacy then hits a punch. Jacy then goes for a hip attack, but Flair catches Jacy and she hits a belly-to-back suplex. Flair then hits several forearms and chops. Flair then hits a walkover clothesline. Jacy then hits an Irish whip and Flair hits the Flair flip and a boot. Flair then goes up top and she hits a cross body, but Jacy rolls through for a near fall. Flair then hits a running boot and she sets up for the moonsault and she hits it for a near fall. Jacy then clips Flair and she hits a running knee for a near fall. Flair then hits a thrust kick and she applies the figure four leg lock. She then bridges and Fallon pulls Flair down. Alexa then hits a punch to Fallon. Reid then hits a knee. Flair then hits a boot to Reid on the apron. Jacy then hits a rolling elbow for the win.

After the match, Jacy tells Fallon and Lainey to go after Flair. Alexa then tries to make the save, but Fallon kicks Alexa to the floor. She then sends Alexa into the ring steps. Rhea Ripley’s music then hits and everything stops. Rhea then hits a thrust kick to Fallon on the floor. She then kicks Reid and sets up for Rip Tide on Jacy, but Jacy escapes and pushes Rhea towards Flair but Rhea stops short.
We then see Paige and Brie Bella in locker room and Byron Saxton asks for their thoughts on the attack last week and what we just saw. Brie says they are impressed and they are making a name for themselves. Brie then says their actions will catch up to them. Paige then says karma is real and they will deal with them in the future, but they have to worry about their tag title match tonight. Byron then asks how will they retain the titles. Brie then says with their experience, they have the advantage.
We then see R-Truth with Axiom and Nathan Frazer and he tells Damian Priest he is talking to Los Americanos. Priest then says they deserve a title match and he looks forward to defending them tonight. Axiom then says they weren’t talking about a match and Frazer says they will talk to Nick. Truth then says he was talking to them about taxes and Priest is more confused when Truth says he shouldn’t be handing out title matches to everyone.
We then see Kit Wilson and The Miz talk about capturing Danhausen and they say they will blind him and stop him. Danhausen then sees the briefcase with the money and he takes $40000 from the case and walks away. Kit then says it should have worked and Miz opens the case and it sprays Miz and Kit.
R-Truth and Damian Priest then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Nathan Frazer and Axiom follow.
WWE Tag Team Championship Match: R-Truth and Damian Priest (c) vs. Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer and Axiom)
The match starts off with Axiom and R-Truth and both men lock up. Truth then backs Axiom into the corner and he gives a clean break and he applies a side head lock. Truth then hits a shoulder tackle and he does some dancing. Truth then misses a clothesline, but Axiom hits an arm drag. Frazer then tags in and Priest tags in. Priest then sends Axiom into the corner, but Frazer escapes and he applies a side head lock. Frazer then hits an enzuigiri and he tags in Axiom. Priest then hits a forearm and Axiom leaps over Priest. Priest then boxes the ears and he follows it up with a forearm. Axiom then counters a Razor’s Edge into a rana. Axiom and Frazer then hit a double drop kick to send Truth to the floor.
Priest and Truth then move out of the way and Frazer and Axiom do not hit dives to the floor. Priest then returns to the ring and he kicks Axiom and tosses him into the corner. Priest then hits a forearm and Truth tags in. Truth then hits a corkscrew flying forearm while Priest hits a side Russian leg sweep. Truth then gets a near fall. Axiom then escapes a suplex and Frazer tags in. Axiom then sends Frazer towards Truth for a DDT and he gets a near fall. Axiom then tags in and he kicks Truth. Axiom then hits a forearm and Truth punches back. Axiom then hits a drop kick and he gets a near fall. Axiom then cinches in a sleeper. Frazer then tags in and they hit stereo kicks for a near fall.
Axiom then tags in and he goes up top and he leaps over Truth. Truth then hits a kick and a cutter out of a suplex set up. Priest and Frazer then tag in and Priest hits several punches and a double back body drop. Priest then hits several elbows into the corner on both men. Priest then hits a cyclone kick to Axiom and a package flatliner to Frazer. Priest then hits a rebound clothesline to Axiom and he goes for South of Heaven, but Frazer lands on his feet and he kicks Priest. Truth then tags in and he hits the two flying shoulder tackles and a Blue Thunder Bomb. Truth then hits a Five Knuckle Shuffle. Axiom then pulls Priest off the apron and Frazer gets a rollup on Truth when he looks at what happened on the floor.
Truth is then sent to the floor and Frazer hits a suicide dive on Truth and Axiom hits a dive onto Priest. Frazer then hits a flip dive to Truth and Priest followed by a moonsault off the ring post. Axiom then hits a missile drop kick while Frazer hits the leg sweep, but Priest breaks up the cover. The straps are down and Priest pulls Truth into the corner to make the tag. Priest then sends Axiom to the floor. Priest then hits a South of Heaven to Frazer and he hits a Razor’s Edge on Axiom for the win.

After the match, Talla Tonga attacks Truth and Priest. He then sends Truth into a chair in the corner. Talla then hits a double choke slam to Axiom and Frazer. Talla then hits a choke slam to Priest. Solo Sikoa then enters the ring.
We then take a look at what just happened. The ring is then cleared of everyone except the MFTs. Solo then grabs a mic and starts off by saying last week Jacob Fatu made a big mistake. We then see what happened last week. Solo then says even though Jacob took out his army, he took out his family. Solo then says Talla’s family is his family. Solo then says Jacob’s brothers are his brothers. Solo then says Talla’s blood is his blood. Solo then says they are not standing here because of you. Solo then says when you get to this building, you are a dead man walking.
The Usos’ music then hits and they make their way down to the ring. Jimmy says they are in your city. He then says they get it and they understand you have an issue with Jacob. He then says you gotta understand, you aren’t the only one with issues. He then says Roman has a big problem with him too. He then says the mistake wasn’t when Jacob took out your guys. He then says it was when he put his hands on Roman. Jey then says not only did he put his hands on Roman, he used the Tongan Death Grip. He then says it is handed down and your dad used it Talla. He then says that is a move of last resort. He then says whatever plans you have with Jacob has to hold up until Roman is done with him.
Solo then says there is plenty of Jacob to go around. Jey then says they are not asking you, they are telling him. Solo then laughs and he says he doesn’t have time for this. Solo then says they should go. He then looks at Talla and he kicks Jey and choke slams Jimmy. Solo then tells Jimmy and Jey that Roman isn’t his tribal chief and they don’t give a damn. He then says whether Roman likes it or not, Jacob is a dead man.
We then see Cody Rhodes walking in the back and Sami Zayn stops him to ask him if he called him condescending and sarcastic. He then says it wasn’t a mistake to be called the Golden Boy. He then asks if he is angry he got to wear a gold cape and gold crown. He then says they have to stick together. He then says they are the last of a dying breed. He then says they are the last real good guys. He then says they are friends. He then says they are the same. Cody then says there is a lot of truth there, but they are not the same. Cody then walks away.
Ricky Saints then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Cody Rhodes follows.
Non-Title Match: Undisputed WWE Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes vs. “Absolute” Ricky Saints
The match starts off with Cody Rhodes offering his hand and Ricky Saints shakes it, but Ricky applies a side head lock and he hits a shoulder tackle. Ricky then hits another shoulder tackle. Ricky then blocks a hip toss and he hits a few arm drags. Cody then hits a knee and he goes for a delayed gourdbuster, but Ricky gets to his feet. Cody then hits an Irish whip and Ricky goes to the apron. Cody then hits a forearm to send Ricky to the floor. Ricky then swings in the ropes and kicks Cody. Ricky then clotheslines Cody over the top rope and to the floor.
Cody then gets back in the ring and they lock up. Cody then cinches in a side head lock and he gets a take down. Ricky then hits a head scissors. Cody then escapes, but Ricky hits a back elbow and several elbows to the back of the neck. Ricky then sends Cody into the turnbuckles and he kicks and punches Cody. Cody then hits a kick and a drop down uppercut. Ricky then hits a clothesline for a near fall. Ricky then hits an elbow into the corner followed by a snap mare and a knee drop for a near fall. Ricky then cinches in a chin bar.
Ricky then hits an elbow and he sends Cody back to the mat. Ricky and Cody then exchange chops. Ricky then hits a kick and a sliding kick for a near fall. Ricky then returns to the neck. Cody then hits a running forearm and Ricky hits a forearm. Ricky then hits a neck breaker and a knee drop for a near fall. Ricky then chokes Cody in the ropes. Ricky then sends the eye across the top rope. Ricky then goes to the ropes for Old School and he poses after the forearm. Cody then hits a power slam. Cody then hits a Beautiful Disaster and a Cody Cutter. Cody then sets Ricky up, but Ricky hits a reverse swinging neck breaker for a near fall.
Ricky then hits a sunset flip for a near fall. Cody then gets a rollup for a near fall. Ricky then hits a tornado DDT for a near fall. Ricky then sets up for Roshambo, but Cody counters into a Cross Rhodes for the win.

After the match, GUNTHER comes up behind Cody and he applies a sleeper. GUNTHER then releases the hold and he reapplies it. GUNTHER then adjusts the title belt and he picks it up. GUNTHER then holds the Undisputed WWE Championship up in the air and he throws the title. GUNTHER then leaves the ring and he heads to the back.
Danhausen then makes his way down to the ring in his vehicle and says he has something to say. Danhausen then introduces himself and says he found $400 and he bought some merchandise for the fans. The Miz then interrupts and he makes his way down to the ring. Miz then says ever since Danhausen came here, bad things have happened to him. Miz then says Danhausen ruined the renewal of his vows, his daughter’s bike was stolen and he was blown up. Miz then says he realizes he is cursed. Miz then says he will do the thing he never thought he would do. Miz then says he will be Danhausen’s mentor. They are about to shake hands, but Kit Wilson’s music interrupts.
Kit then asks Miz if he lost his mind. Kit then says Miz was mentoring him. Kit then says now you enable this toxic little goblin. Miz then says that is enough and Kit tells Miz to wake up. Miz then says Danhausen has mastered the curse. Miz then says he has been able to zone in into what it takes to be a superstar. Miz then says can you say the same Kit. Miz then says you want to be my mentee. Miz then says you aren’t even in the same league. Kit then stops the handshake again and Kit asks to give them a chance. Kit then says he has written a poem. Kit then says he wants Miz to shake his hand. Danhausen then says he wants Miz to shake his hand. Miz then eventually shakes Danhausen’s hand. Miz then says there is one thing left to do. Danhausen is about to curse Kit, but Miz hits Danhausen from behind. Kit and Miz then attack Danhausen. Miz then hits a Skull Crushing Finale. Kit then goes up top and he hits an elbow drop.
We then head to the back and we see Royce Keys is warming up.
We then get a Blake Monroe video package. Blake is in her bathtub and she says nothing burns brighter than her.
Angel and Berto then make their way to the ring for the next match of the night and Royce Keys follows.
Singles Match: Royce Keys vs. Los Garza’s Angel
The match starts off with Angle tossing his pants at Keys to distract him, but Keys recovers and forces Angel to the floor. Berto then distracts Keys and Angel misses. Keys then hits a clothesline. Keys then hits a splash into the corner and he knocks Berto off the apron. Keys then catches Angel off the turnbuckles and he puts him on the turnbuckles. Keys then hits a twisting power slam off the turnbuckles. Keys then hits a spinebuster for the win.

We then see Cathy Kelley with Tiffany Stratton and she asks what is next. Tiffany says people should be coming to her with opportunities. She then says the title should be defended more often. Chelsea Green then says she is walking again and Nick Aldis ruined her birthday celebration and they will get martinis. Chelsea then says they can talk about her becoming champion again. Kiana James and Giulia then show up and she says Tiffany won’t be champion long. Kiana then says she will get Giulia a title match. Tiffany then says she is looking forward to defending the title next week. She then says it won’t be against Giulia, but against Kiana.
We then see Royce Keys on the phone and he says he will call them back. Jacob Fatu then shows up and he congratulates Royce. Royce then says he has known Fatu for 14 or 15 years and he is the same guy. He then talked about his old car and going to Vegas for shows and getting back to the warehouse. He then says Roman is back on top and he is taking everything. Royce then tells Fatu to Werewolf up and make sure Roman doesn’t take food from his table. He then says he hopes WWE hasn’t taken the smell of the streets from him. Talla Tonga then attacks Royce and Fatu goes after Talla. Talla then choke slams Fatu through a table.
The Gingerbread Man suit is in the ring and Sami Zayn’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Sami asks the fans if they are having fun. Sami then says he is being honest. Sami then says he loves coming to Tulsa. Sami then says he had a beautiful morning. Sami then says he went to the Bob Dylan Center. Sami then says Bob was a legend of folk music until he picked up an electric guitar. Sami then says they turned on him and they booed him. Sami then says he can relate. Sami then says he doesn’t know what he did to get some of the reactions he has been getting. Sami then says it doesn’t bother him. Sami then says he knows his ride or die fan club is in the house tonight.
Sami then says there are millions more watching at home and they will have his back. Sami then says he can deal with some bad reactions. Sami then says he cannot deal with disrespect. Sami then says the fact that someone like Trick Williams. Sami then says Trick and the Gingerbread Man is fun. Sami then says that is a shell of a man wearing a costume and that is what Trick is. Sami then says it is easy to do what Trick does. Sami then says get great music, a great entrance, dance moves and a catchphrase. Sami then says that is easy. Sami then says what he does is hard. Sami then says when he looks at this, it is funny, but that isn’t what he sees.
Sami then says he sees Trick not taking him seriously. Sami then says this is disrespect. Sami then says when he looks at this costume, he wants to. Sami then balls up a fist and he stops. Sami then says he is losing his marbles because he is going to hit a Gingerbread man in Tulsa. Sami then shakes its hand and kicks the Gingerbread man in the neither region. Sami then hits an elbow drop and several punches. Sami then rips off its arm. Trick Williams’ music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring and he punches Sam and hits an uppercut. Trick then sets up for the Trick Shot, but Sami goes to the floor and into the crowd. Trick then laments the status of the costume and he throws up the ‘X’.
We then see Byron Saxton with Nia Jax and Lash Legend and he asks about Brie Bella and Paige’s comments. Nia points out that they didn’t get pinned. Lash then says they prepared for the Bellas, not Paige. She then says it will be a different story tonight. Nia then says things will work out because it is only two teams. She then says they will regain the titles and Brie and Paige will go back to the couch with Nikki.
We then see Cathy Kelley in the trainer’s room and she says she is waiting for comments from Trick Williams. Trick then says Sami crossed the line. He then says last week Sami took out Yachty. Trick then says tonight Sami took out the Gingerbread Man. Trick then says you messed with his money and no one does that. Trick then says he does not play around with his money. Trick then says the Gingerbread Man will be okay. Trick then says he has a match at Backlash. Trick then says he gets what he wants.
Brie Bella and Paige then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night and The Irresistible Forces follow.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match: WWE Hall of Famer Brie Bella and Paige (c) vs. The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax and “The Boujee Bully” Lash Legend)
The match starts off with Paige and Lash Legend and they lock up. Lash then gets a take down. Paige then hits several kicks and Nia distracts Paige. Lash then hits a clothesline. Lash then hits a splash for a near fall. Nia then tags in and she head butts Paige. Nia then goes for a slam, but Paige escapes and she clips Nia. Paige then hits a jaw breaker and Brie tags in and she hits a missile drop kick. Brie then hits several knees and a leg sweep. Brie then hits a Brie Mode knee against the ropes. Brie then kicks Lash off the apron, but Nia gets Brie up. Brie then gets to the apron and she punches Nia. Lash then grabs Brie’s leg and Nia knocks Brie off the apron and to the floor.
Lash then sends Brie into the apron. They then return to the ring. Lash then slams Brie’s arm into the mat. Lash then puts Brie’s head between the top and middle rope and she swings it back and forth. She then does it again. Lash then hits a standing power slam, but Paige occupies the referee so Lash gets a near fall. Lash then gets another near fall. Nia then tags in and she chokes Brie in the ropes while sitting on her back. Nia then misses a splash into the corner and she hits the turnbuckles. Nia then sends Brie into the turnbuckles. Lash then tags in and Lash hits several shoulders. Nia then tags in and she hits several shoulders in the corner.
Lash then tags in and she tags Nia back in. Nia then slams Brie’s head into the mat. Nia then misses a shoulder in the corner and she hits the ring post. Lash then swings at Paige, but misses. Lash then grabs Brie and stops her from making the tag. Brie then punches Lash and she hits a rana and tags in Paige. Paige then hits several forearms and a flying kick. Lash then sends Paige to the apron and Paige hits several knees to Lash. Paige then goes up top and she hits a cross body, but Lash catches Paige. Paige then gets to her feet and Brie tags in. Paige then hits Paige Turner and Brie hits an X-Factor for a near fall. Nia then sends Paige to the floor. Nia then tags in and she hits a splash into the corner. Paige then kicks Nia’s leg when Nia goes for aNIAlator. Brie then gets a rollup for the win.

It is then announced that next week GUNTHER will be on SmackDown, Tiffany Stratton will defend her Women’s U.S. Title against Kiana James, Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss will face Fatal Influence and there will a funeral for the Gingerbread Man.
We then see Sami Zayn and he asks Nick Aldis if this is a joke. Nick says he knows Sami is angry and he asks for a modicum of respect because people are grieving. Sami then says to make the match official. Nick then agrees to make the match for Backlash. Sami then walks away Danhausen shows up. Danhausen asks Nick if he saw what happened and he demands a match with Miz. Nick then says he can put Danhausen in a match with Miz and Kit if he can find a tag partner. Danhausen then agrees and walks away.
The Usos then make their way down to the ring for the main event of the night and MFT follows.
Tag Team Match: The Usos (“Main Event” Jey Uso and “Big Jim” Jimmy Uso) vs. MFT (Talla Tonga and Solo Sikoa)
The match starts off with Talla Tonga and Jey Uso and Jey hits several right hands and a super kick, but Talla responds with a clothesline. Talla then hits an elbow drop. Solo is then tagged in and he headbutts Jey. Solo then hits a right hand, but Jey hits a kick to the side of the head. Jimmy is then tagged in and they double team Solo. Jimmy then climbs the second rope and jumps, but Solo catches him and hits him with a spinning Solo slam. Solo then hits a running hip attack.
Solo then hits a right hand onto Jimmy. Talla is then tagged in and Talla hits a leg drop. He then goes for a cover, but Jimmy kicks out. Talla then hits a right hand onto Jey and Jey falls off the ring apron. Solo is then tagged in. Talla then grabs Jimmy, but Jimmy hits an elbow to the face. Solo then runs towards Jimmy, but he moves out of the way and Solo falls to the outside of the ring. Talla then goes for a splash onto Jimmy, but Jimmy moves out of the way. Jey is then tagged in and he hits a suicide dive onto Talla. Jey then climbs the top rope and he hits a cross body onto Solo. He then goes for a cover, but Solo kicks out.
Jey then hits several right hands and a super kick. Jey then goes to the ropes and he hits a spear. He then goes fora cover, but Talla Tonga breaks it up. Jimmy then hits a super kick onto Talla. Jey then hits a super kick onto Talla and The Usos hit a double super kick onto Talla. The Usos then clothesline Talla to the outside of the ring. Jimmy then goes for a suicide dive, but Talla hits a right hand. Jey then jumps off onto Talla, but Talla grabs him and throws him into the barricade. Talla then throws Jimmy into the steel steps. Talla then clears the announce desk, but Jacob Fatu jumps off the barricade onto Talla and the referee calls for the bell.

After the match, Fatu sends Talla into the ring post and hits him with the ring steps. Fatu then goes into the ring with Solo and Solo wants to know what is he doing. Solo then goes for the Samoan spike, but Fatu hits the Tongan Death Grip first. Talla then catches Fatu on a suicide dive and he tries to choke slam Fatu through the table, but Fatu hits a Tongan Death Grip and a Samoan drop through the table. Fatu then gyrates. Jimmy and Jey are now in the ring and Fatu gets on the apron. Fatu then enters the ring and Fatu gyrates again. He then walks through Jimmy and Jey and leaves the ring. Fatu then tells Jimmy and Jey to tell Roman that he is going to dog walk his a** at Backlash as the show comes to a close.
