The September 25 episode of Friday Night SmackDown will build towards the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. That’s exactly why WWE has put together a solid lineup to keep fans entertained from start to finish.
WWE United States Championship Steel Cage Match: Trick Williams (c) vs. Baron Corbin
Trick Williams and Baron Corbin aren’t getting a normal title match. They’re getting locked inside a Steel Cage. Williams will put the United States Championship on the line against “The Nomad” after their issues reached the point where putting a cage around them apparently became the best solution. So far, Williams has Corbin’s number and fans are now waiting to see if Williams can put Corbin away for good.
Men’s Money in the Bank Qualifying Match: Finn Balor vs. CM Punk vs. Gunther
Finn Balor, CM Punk and Gunther will meet in a Triple Threat match with the final available spot in the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match on the line. There isn’t a second chance here either — two of these guys are going to miss out on Money in the Bank completely.
Punk is also coming off losing the Undisputed WWE Championship to Sami Zayn in Mexico City, so winning the briefcase would give him another possible route back to the title picture. So it remains to be seen who will advance in the end.
Women’s Money in the Bank Qualifying Match: Giulia vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Lash Legend
The final spot in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match will also be decided on SmackDown. Giulia, Charlotte Flair and Lash Legend will duke it out in another Triple Threat qualifier, and just like the men’s match, only one of them gets to move on to New Orleans. So, we’ll have to see who will make it to Money in the Bank.
