Welcome to another edition of Tuesday night SmackDown Live!
Tonight’s show is to be headlined by a huge match between AJ Styles and Randy Orton. On last week’s SmackDown, AJ Styles defeated Luke Harper to become number one contender for the WWE Championship match at WrestleMania against Bray Wyatt. However, the Royal Rumble winner, Randy Orton, turned on Bray Wyatt last week and burned down Sister Abigail’s resting place. Randy now wants to face Bray for the WWE Championship, so the winner of tonight’s match will go on to face Bray. Or will we be looking at a Triple Threat with Bray, Randy, and AJ. Or will tonight’s SmackDown Live throw another spanner in the works?
Another first on tonight’s SmackDown is going to be a mixed tag match that sees John Cena teaming with Nikki Bella for the first time ever. The real-life couple will take on the comical duo of James Ellsworth and Carmella. This is to give us a taste of what Cena and Nikki will be like as a team, ahead of their WrestleMania match with The Miz and Maryse.
Tonight’s SmackDown is sure to start the build to WrestleMania in a serious way. Baron Corbin is set to face Ambrose for the Intercontinental Championship, Alexa Bliss will defend her Women’s Championship but it’s unclear if she will face Becky Lynch or Natalya, and American Alpha look set to tackle with The Uso’s.
