Layla Diggs isn’t hiding after suffering one of the toughest setbacks of her young WWE career.
Just days after an injury ripped away her first shot at the NXT Women’s North American Championship, Diggs finally broke her silence—and she made one thing crystal clear. She fully expects to come back and finish the job.
Diggs took to Twitter with a series of photos showing her wearing an arm sling, giving fans their first look at the injury that forced WWE to pull her from this week’s title match against Zaria. But instead of focusing on what she lost, Diggs made it all about what she plans to do when she gets back.
“I’ll be back and I’ll be champion. Thank you guys for all the love 🫶🏽 #WWENXT.”
The update comes after WWE was forced to scrap Diggs’ scheduled championship match when Robert Stone revealed she’d been injured during an NXT live event over the weekend. Stone promised fans the Women’s North American Title would still be defended, but Diggs’ breakthrough opportunity disappeared overnight.
That’s what makes the timing so brutal. Only a week earlier, Diggs shocked everyone by defeating Izzi Dame, Thea Hail and Lizzy Rain in a Fatal 4-Way Match to earn the biggest opportunity of her WWE career. Instead of walking into NXT with a chance to win championship gold, she was suddenly watching it all unfold from the sidelines.
WWE still hasn’t revealed exactly what injury Diggs suffered or how long she’ll be out, but her first public update makes one thing obvious—she isn’t thinking about what went wrong. She’s already thinking about the title she believes she’ll eventually hold.
