The September 29 episode of WWE NXT is shaping up to be a great show, and it will build towards the next Premium Live Event. So, the company has booked solid matches to keep fans engaged throughout the night.
NXT Championship: Grayson Waller (c) vs. Mason Rook
Grayson Waller did plenty of talking last week. Now Mason Rook gets the chance to shut him up. Rook earned his title shot by winning a Triple Threat match and then came face-to-face with Waller last week. Things quickly got personal, with Waller going after Rook’s weight while Rook fired back about Waller’s previous run on the main roster. Rook’s response was pretty simple: being good on the microphone isn’t going to help Waller once they’re actually in the ring. This will be Rook’s first championship opportunity in NXT, so we’ll have to see if he can beat Waller and become the new champion.
NXT Women’s North American Championship: Zaria (c) vs. Thea Hail
Thea Hail has already beaten Zaria twice. Now she has to do it when the championship is actually on the line. Hail’s latest win came last week when she teamed with La Catalina against Zaria and Kelani Jordan and pinned the Women’s North American Champion. After proving the first victory wasn’t a fluke, Hail now gets another shot at Zaria with the title at stake. So it remains to be seen whether Hail can become the champion once again.
Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic First Round Matches: BirthRight (Uriah Connors & Stacks Lorenzo) vs. Mini Vikingo & Chazz “Starboy” Hall, Fraxiom vs. DarkState (Cutler James & Osiris Griffin)
The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic continues this week and WWE has booked two solid matches for the first round of the tournament. The first match will see BirthRight duke it out with Mini Vikingo and Chazz Hall. In the second bout, Fraxiom will face DarkState. So we’ll have to see which teams will advance in the tournament.
Myles Borne Appearance
Myles Borne will make his appearance for the first time since attacking his former partner, Tavion Heights, on NXT television. Borne was supposed to issue an apology to Heights for attacking him at NXT Heatwave, but that didn’t happen at all. So fans are waiting to see what Borne will have to say on the show.
