WWE didn’t waste any time setting the table for next week. During the WWE NXT episode on September 15, 2026, the company confirmed several matches and a major tournament return for the September 22 episode.
The biggest announcement is the return of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. WWE confirmed that the tournament will officially begin next Tuesday, adding another major piece to the show after NXT General Manager Robert Stone revealed that this year’s field will include talent from NXT, RAW and SmackDown. The full brackets are expected to be revealed later this week.
WWE also wasted no time turning the chaos from Kelani Jordan’s segment into an actual match. After La Catalina unexpectedly interrupted Jordan, ZARIA and Thea Hail joined the confrontation before a fight broke out. Catalina and Hail were left standing tall, and now they’ll team together against Jordan and ZARIA on September 22.
Another six-man tag team match was also made official. Sean Legacy, Zilla Fatu and Dorian Van Dux will join forces to take on Birthright next Tuesday.
That gives WWE several different stories to work with on September 22, including the start of the Dusty Classic, fallout from the women’s division brawl and another chance for Zilla Fatu to make an impact on NXT television.

WWE is already giving next week’s NXT a packed feel, and there’s still plenty of time for more matches and segments to be added before Tuesday night.
