Brock Lesnar’s shocking WWE return already has people questioning where the storyline with Oba Femi is heading next, and Tommy Dreamer and Bully Ray think WWE could be setting up something much bigger for SummerSlam.

Lesnar returned on Raw just weeks after teasing retirement at WrestleMania 42 and immediately reignited his rivalry with Oba Femi. The two are now set for a rematch at Clash in Italy, but Dreamer admitted on Busted Open that the quick timeline caught him off guard.

Dreamer originally believed WWE was saving Brock Lesnar’s next major match for SummerSlam, especially with retirement rumors continuing to follow “The Beast Incarnate.”

“Where do they go from here? Because I thought this was a great thing for SummerSlam, but no, we’re garnering towards Italy.”

Dreamer also questioned whether either man losing at Clash in Italy could create problems moving forward. According to him, Oba Femi taking another loss could hurt his momentum, while Lesnar losing again leaves very little room for the story to continue.

“Because if Oba takes the loss, will it derail him? If Brock takes the loss, I don’t know where you could go unless he’s like, man, maybe it’s time I call a career.”

Dreamer then floated the idea of WWE pivoting into Brock Lesnar vs. Gunther at SummerSlam with Lesnar’s career potentially on the line. Bully Ray pushed things even further and made it clear he does not believe WWE should have Brock lose clean to Oba Femi again in Italy.

“There’s no way in hell that they can just go to Turin, Italy, and have Oba defeat Brock again.”

Ray argued that another Brock loss would make the entire comeback feel pointless and would water down Lesnar’s return.

“It’s like bringing Brock back, just sell tickets or whatever, and then he goes away again. It waters everything down and takes away.”

Instead, Bully Ray believes Lesnar should defeat Oba in Italy and force a trilogy match at SummerSlam where Femi can finally get the decisive victory back on the biggest stage possible.

“A talent like Oba Femi, who’s on his way, needs to get that win back.”

Dreamer also pointed out that SummerSlam being held in Minnesota could naturally position Lesnar as the babyface in front of his hometown crowd if WWE decides to extend the feud one last time.

At this point, WWE has not confirmed whether the Oba Femi rivalry is leading toward a trilogy match, but the direction of the storyline has already sparked major debate about how Brock Lesnar’s possible retirement run should play out.
