WrestleMania week is already underway behind the scenes, and preparations for some of the event’s most dangerous matches reportedly started earlier than many fans might expect.

According to Fightful Select, WWE scheduled in-ring rehearsals for several WrestleMania matches as early as Wednesday. Among the matches expected to go through preparations was the Intercontinental Championship ladder match, which typically requires more coordination than standard bouts due to its high-risk nature and number of competitors involved.

It was noted that the ladder match was among the bouts specifically identified for early preparation as WWE began working through its packed WrestleMania lineup.

“Sources that Fightful spoke to stated that a number of WrestleMania matches were due to have their rehearsals take place on Wednesday. Among them included the Intercontinental Title ladder match.”

With 14 matches currently planned across the two-night WrestleMania event, it’s considered unlikely that every match will receive rehearsal time on the same day. Still, WWE reportedly made sure the infrastructure needed for rehearsals was already set up ahead of time, allowing talent to rotate through sessions as needed throughout the week.

“With 14 matches, it's unlikely that all the matches will see rehearsals on Wednesday, but the setup for said rehearsals is already prepared for use throughout the week.”

Ladder matches are widely known for their complexity, requiring precise timing between multiple performers and careful planning around risky spots involving ladders and elevated positions. With the Intercontinental Championship on the line, preparation for this type of match could be especially important to keep things running smoothly once the cameras roll.

WrestleMania 42 is set to take place on April 18 and April 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, with several marquee matches already confirmed across both nights. With the ladder match already getting extra attention behind the scenes, it’s clear WWE wants to make sure one of the most dangerous match types on the card delivers when it matters most.
