We see Samoa Joe storm into Paige’s office backstage, and he’s furious. He says that he should be WWE Champion. She says he isn’t, so he should calm down. She tells him that he can face AJ again, in three weeks, at the Australia Super Show Down. Joe says that isn’t good enough. He needs AJ, and he needs no disqualifications, no count-outs. Paige says she agrees, and there needs to be a winner. To which Joe says there will be and walks off.
Mick Foley comes out as the special guest referee for the WWE Universal Championship match. The fans chant his name. We get ring introductions for both men and they’re right in each others faces. Braun grabs the title from Roman as he’s being introduced and talks trash – which the fans cheer. Roman hits Braun and the fans boo.

Hell In A Cell Match

WWE Universal Championship

(C) Roman Reigns Vs. Braun Strowman

The bell rings as Roman hits Braun, and then again. Roman punches him into the corner but then Strowman throws Roman away. Braun looks to splash Reigns in the corner but the big dog kicks him. Strowman responds by throwing Reigns into the ring post. Reigns stands on the apron but Braun shoulder barges him off and Reigns slams into the side of the cell.
Braun goes out of the ring and slams Roman into the cell wall again. Strowman tosses Roman into the ring post, then the cell wall again, all while a girl in the crowd screams bloody murder. Braun gets Roman back into the ring but Roman hits him twice, then knocks him from the ring with a flying forearm. Roman climbs from the ring and rounds the ring post but Braun charges and tackles Reigns against the cell. Braun bounces Roman off of the apron, then the steel steps, and again, and again.
Strowman grabs the steel steps and looks to hit Roman but the Champion dropkicks him. Strowman lays across the apron and Reigns hits a drive-by kick. Braun stumbles around the side of the ring and Roman looks for a Superman punch but Strowman catches him and chokeslams the Champ on the apron! Strowman then lifts the apron and pulls out a Kendo stick but that’s not what he wants. He goes back under and grabs a chair but Reigns has the Kendo stick and beats on Braun until it breaks.

They get back into the ring and Roman betas Braun around with the chair. Strowman finally grabs the chair and shrugs Roman off, then runs at Reigns in the corner but nobody’s home and he spears the ring post. Roman hits a DDT on the steel chair but it barely scores a two count. Roman then runs and hits a Superman punch but Braun doesn’t fall. Roman hits another and Strowman doesn’t go down. He looks for a third but Braun catches him and lands a chokeslam for a two count – Foley counted a little bit too fast and almost got a three count.
Braun lifts Roman up but the big dog drops down and kicks him. Roman connects with a third Superman punch that floors Braun for a near-fall. Strowman rolls from the ring, so Reigns slides out and grabs a table from under the ring. After sliding the table into the ring, Roman “oooohhaaaa’s”, runs around three corners of the ring to Spear Braun but instead he gets clocked with the steel steps! Strowman throws the steps into the ring and hits Roman with them again for a very close two count.
Strowman lifts the steps again and hits Roman square in the chest as he lays on the mat, then tosses them out of the ring. Strowman lifts Reigns up by the vest, gets him on his shoulders and hits a running powerslam but Roman kicks out! Strowman is frustrated, so he decides to set-up the table in the corner. He lifts Roman for another running powerslam but Roman gets down and hits two more Superman punches, followed by a Spear through the table! He pins but Braun kicks out! That’s five Superman punches, if you’re counting.

Suddenly, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre are down at ringside and want into the ring. Rollins and Ambrose come down and start brawling with them around the cell. They beat the hell out of Ziggler as he tried to escape, then take the top off of the announce table. McIntyre returns and fights them off, then take the lid of of a second announce table. McIntyre and Ambrose brawl over the barricade, meanwhile Ziggler scales the cell and Rollins follows after him. Rollins and Ziggler get to the top of the cell and brawl. Rollins looks for s suplex but Ziggler fights it off. Drew McIntyre starts climbing the cell as well. Suddenly, Ambrose is climbing as well, and he has a Kendo stick on his back.
All four men are brawling on top of the cell as the fans chant “This Is Awesome”. Ambrose floors them both with the Kendo stick until McIntyre catches it and they brawl. Both men go down following a double clothesline. There are two men on the mat inside the cell, and four men down on top if it. Ziggler begins to climb back down and Rollins joins him. The two of them get halfway down and start throwing hands and slamming each others head on the side of the structure. They hit their heads together and both men fall from the cell through the tables at ringside!

Incredibly, Brock Lesnar’s music hits and out comes The Beast with Paul Heyman! Heyman asks the referee to open the door but Brock doesn’t wait, he kicks the door off the hinges! Brock then walks up the door and into the ring. Heyman sprays pepper spray into the face of Mick Foley. Meanwhile Lesnar grabs the piece of table and beats it over the backs of Reigns and Strowman! Brock then lifts Strowman and hits an F5. He grabs Roman and hits an F5 onto Strowman! Lesnar roars as the fans chant “Suplex City!” Lesnar then walks out and leaves. Reigns and Strowman are down inside the ring, Foley, Ziggler, and Rollins are down outside of it, and Ambrose and McIntyre are down on top of it. A new referee comes down and calls for the bell because neither man can continue.
