Braun Strowman apparently could have ended up in The Wyatt Sicks. Joe Gacy has revealed that Strowman’s name came up while WWE was still figuring out exactly who would be part of the Bray Wyatt-inspired faction.
Speaking on Developmentally Speaking, Gacy explained that he didn’t have the complete lineup when plans for the group first started coming together. He knew Bo Dallas was going to be Uncle Howdy, but several of the other spots were still being worked out.
Dexter Lumis was being discussed, while Gacy didn’t even know for certain that Erick Rowan was involved until everyone eventually met together in Stamford, Connecticut. That naturally raised the question of whether WWE had other options in mind if someone like Rowan didn’t return. That’s when Gacy dropped Strowman’s name.
“There was always a little bit of a talk of Strowman maybe being involved even at some point.”
Gacy didn’t say how serious those talks became or exactly where Strowman would have fit into the group. Still, Braun would have been a pretty obvious person for WWE to consider. Strowman originally debuted on WWE’s main roster as part of The Wyatt Family alongside Bray Wyatt, Rowan and Luke Harper. His history with Bray later became a major part of their 2020 feud as well, so there was already plenty for WWE to work with.
Interestingly, Strowman wasn’t the only person from Bray’s past who came up during those early conversations. Gacy previously revealed that Alexa Bliss was discussed from some of The Wyatt Sicks’ earliest meetings. Unlike Strowman, those plans went considerably further, with WWE initially telling the group that Bliss would eventually join them once she was ready to return.
The Wyatt Sicks and Bliss even pitched ideas for working together before WWE ultimately decided to take them in separate directions. Strowman never made it into the group either, but his name being discussed shows just how many different versions of The Wyatt Sicks WWE considered before settling on the faction fans eventually saw.
