The Boogeyman says WWE left a wild Donald Trump moment on the cutting room floor, and it involved him grabbing the future president by the collar during the WrestleMania 23 build.

Boogeyman told the story during an appearance on the Going Ringside podcast, where he was asked about his old WWE segment with Trump. Fans may remember the setup from the “Battle of the Billionaires” era, when Trump was heavily involved in WWE’s road to WrestleMania 23 alongside Vince McMahon.

The segment had Trump sitting on a couch with Miss America before Boogeyman popped up in full character. The version fans saw was weird enough, but Boogeyman claims WWE chopped out the part where he got physical with Trump. Boogeyman said Trump and Vince already had a real relationship at the time.

“Well, he and Vince are friends, as you know.”

Then he explained how the scene played out. Boogeyman said he came up from behind the couch, Miss America ran off, but Trump did not want to act scared.

“But I got to tell you, in that segment, when I come up from behind the couch, and he had also Miss America there as well. And she ran off. But then Donald, Mr. Trump, President Trump as he is, he didn’t want to be frightened.”

That created a problem for Boogeyman, because scaring people was the whole point of his WWE character.

“He didn’t want to sell my character.”

When the Scott repeated that Trump did not want to sell him, Boogeyman confirmed it.

“No. Yeah. He didn’t want to sell my character.”

Boogeyman said Trump was talking about how the whole place was a circus, then dismissed him with a sandwich line.

“So, he’s talking about how this place is a circus. True enough it is. But he didn’t want to sell my character. So, he said, ‘Go make me a sandwich.’”

That line was only the setup. The bigger moment, according to Boogeyman, happened right after that. He said he walked off-screen, came back, grabbed Trump by the collar, and threw a Boogeyman-style comeback right in his face.

“You see me walk off screen, but then I came back and I grabbed him by the collar and I said, ‘How about a worm sandwich?’”

The Going Ringside host Scott Johnson immediately asked if WWE cut that moment from the segment. Boogeyman said yes.

“They cut it.”

When asked why WWE removed the collar grab, Boogeyman said it was because Trump did not want to be shown looking afraid.

“They cut it because he did not want to show fear.”

Scott pushed him on it, pointing out that WWE cut the future president’s segment because he did not want to look scared of Boogeyman. Boogeyman corrected the wording, but not the point. Boogeyman made it clear he was not just goofing around with the story.

“Well, no. He didn’t want to look scared of me. He didn’t want to show that he was frightened.“But this is a true story.”

Later in the interview, Scott went back to the collar grab because that was clearly the big part of the story. He asked Boogeyman to explain exactly what happened in the moment WWE allegedly cut. Boogeyman said he started the scene with his usual creepy routine. Then he delivered his classic line.

“I said, one, two, I’m coming for you, three, go through my whole boogeyman chant, nursery rhyme kind of deal.”

“I’m the Boogeyman and I’m coming to get you.”

Boogeyman said Miss America bailed from the couch, but Trump stayed there and played it cool, calling the place a circus before telling him to fix a sandwich.

“Miss America at the time, I forget her name, she runs, she gets out, she runs, and looks, I mean, not but Donald, he looks around and said, ‘This place is a circus.’ And he says, ‘Oh, go fix me a sandwich.’”

That is when Boogeyman said he left the shot, thought about what Trump had just said, and decided he was not going to let the moment die there.

“So, I walked off screen. I’m like, he really would tell me to go fix me sandwich. So, I went back and I grabbed him by a shirt and I said, ‘How about a worm sandwich?’”

Scott asked if Trump did not want to look scared, and Boogeyman said Trump actually did look scared once the grab happened because he did not expect anyone to put hands on him.

“No. Well, he did then because he was unsuspecting.”

Scott then asked Boogeyman to describe Trump’s reaction as fear. Boogeyman did not back off that at all.

“Yes. Yes. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Fear. Cuz he didn’t expect anyone to grab him by.”

Boogeyman said he grabbed Trump because he felt insulted. In his mind, Trump telling the Boogeyman to make a sandwich killed the whole vibe of a character who was supposed to have people running scared.

“But I grabbed him because I was insulted for him to go tell me to go make a sandwich. Okay. I’m the Boogeyman. You know, got all these people being afraid of me and he’s telling me to go make a freaking sandwich.”

Then he repeated the line he says came after the collar grab. Boogeyman also said the situation caused some trouble because Trump refusing to show fear almost hurt the character on camera.

“So that’s when I grabbed him by his collar and I said, ‘How about a worm sandwich?’”

“In all actuality, I got somewhat in trouble for that or he for it because I allowed him to not show the show fairness which almost kills the character. Do you understand?”

Boogeyman still sees the whole thing as a strange piece of WWE history. He met Trump before he became president, and he did it while fully dressed as one of the most bizarre characters WWE ever had.

“But I was very fortunate. I can say that I actually met the president before he was president.”

The wildest part of this story is not the sandwich line or even Trump refusing to act scared. It is Boogeyman claiming WWE cut the moment where he came back into the shot, grabbed Trump by the collar, and got a real fear reaction out of him. Fans saw the cleaner version on television, but according to Boogeyman, the best part never aired.

What do you think about Boogeyman claiming WWE cut footage of him grabbing Donald Trump by the collar? Should WWE have left that moment in the segment, or was cutting it the smart move? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
