WWE apparently made a major last-minute change to the Saturday Night’s Main Event lineup after the match originally expected to close the show ended up opening it instead.

Earlier in the day, Rope Break reported that the six-woman tag team match featuring Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss against Jade Cargill, B-Fab & Michin was scheduled to headline the event. Instead, the match kicked off Saturday Night’s Main Event once the broadcast went live.

That sudden switch immediately raised questions about whether WWE altered additional parts of the lineup before the show started. As of now, it remains unclear if any other planned match order changes were made behind the scenes.

The six-woman match had already been positioned as one of the biggest attractions on the card due to the ongoing issues between Rhea Ripley and Jade Cargill heading into Clash in Italy. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss added even more star power to Ripley’s side, while B-Fab and Michin continued backing Cargill in the rivalry.

Earlier reports also indicated that Penta vs. Ethan Page for the Intercontinental Championship was expected to open the event, making the sudden lineup adjustment even more noticeable once the show began.

Current lineup for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event:

  • Intercontinental Championship Match: Penta vs. Ethan Page
  • Non-Title Match: Becky Lynch vs. Sol Ruca
  • World Tag Team Championship Match: The Vision vs. The Street Profits
  • WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match: Paige & Brie Bella vs. Nia Jax & Lash Legend
  • Six-Woman Tag Team Match: Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss vs. Jade Cargill, B-Fab & Michin

Saturday Night’s Main Event is airing live from the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Peacock.

WWE changing the planned closing match into the opening bout instantly became one of the first surprises of the night, and now fans are waiting to see if more lineup changes are still coming.
