Maven has another wild Triple H story, and this one involves a WWE road schedule, a North Carolina strip club, and a bachelor party that Triple H apparently barely attended.
During a new video on his YouTube channel, Maven talked about his issues with Triple H and how WWE’s backstage culture worked during his time with the company. While discussing Triple H’s relationship with Stephanie McMahon, Maven brought up the time WWE talent were made to attend Triple H’s bachelor party before his marriage to Stephanie.
According to Maven, the company did not exactly send out a normal invitation. He said WWE’s schedule made it clear that talent were expected to be there. Maven explained that wrestlers would normally fly in on Friday, work three non-televised shows, do Monday Night Raw, and then fly home Tuesday. This time, he said WWE booked flights for Wednesday instead.
“I remember when he and Steph were about to get married, the company actually forced us to go to his bachelor party. And you’re saying, Maven, how did they force you to go to his bachelor party? Here’s how. We would fly in on Friday, wrestle three non-televised house shows, then on Monday night, do Monday Night Raw, and fly home every Tuesday. That was how it was week after week. Well, the company decided to have Triple H’s bachelor party on a Tuesday night in a North Carolina strip club, and they conveniently made sure our flights were for Wednesday. We had to go.”
Maven said he could not remember anyone skipping the party. He said some people were there because they wanted to have fun, but others showed up because they did not want to be the one person who missed Triple H’s bachelor party.
“And I can’t remember anyone not showing up. Why? Well, of course, I was there cuz I like strip clubs, but most of the guys were there because they just didn’t want to be the one that didn’t show up to Triple H’s bachelor party.”
Then came the kicker. Maven said Triple H himself was hardly there.
“Well, actually, there was one guy that didn’t show up. Who would that guy be? Triple H himself. We were in the club the entire night, and Triple H would show up the last 20 minutes before closing time.”
Maven said he does not know how many wrestlers would have shown up if it had simply been an invitation instead of WWE changing travel around the event. However, he said he knows the turnout would not have been nearly as large.
“Now, I don’t know how many guys would have came to his bachelor party if they would have just extended an invitation, but I guarantee you and I know for a fact it would not have been as many as they had since they were flying us out the next day. Hell, he didn’t even want to be there. Why the hell would I want to be there?”
It is another look into how much pressure existed backstage in WWE during that era. Maven’s point was not just about the party itself, but how wrestlers felt they had to show up for Triple H because of his standing in the company and his connection to the McMahon family.
Maven has said he has let go of the bitterness from that time, but stories like this show how complicated Triple H’s backstage presence was for some people who worked with him. Triple H may have been respected, but according to Maven, there were also plenty of moments where wrestlers felt the politics around him were impossible to ignore.
What do you think about Maven’s story about Triple H’s bachelor party? Was this just part of WWE’s old locker room politics, or does it say something bigger about Triple H’s power at the time? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comments section below.
