Willow Nightingale is not questioning whether she will eventually become AEW Women’s World Champion. In her mind, it is only a matter of when it happens.
During a conversation with Sports Illustrated ahead of AEW Redemption, Nightingale opened up about visualizing herself at the top of the women’s division long before she joined AEW. Willow said believing the championship is meant for her has been a major part of pushing herself toward that goal. Nightingale explained that reaching the top starts with genuinely believing it can happen.
“I don’t think you could even get as close to tasting the gold if you don’t believe it yourself first.”
Willow then offered some advice for anyone chasing a major goal, saying people should stop wondering whether their dream will happen and instead focus on how they will reach it.
“Whatever goals or dreams you aspire to, you have to believe that it is set out for you. It’s not a question of if it’s going to happen. It’s how do I get there? When do I get there?”
Nightingale will get another chance to reach the top when she challenges for the AEW Women’s World Championship at Redemption. She believes Sunday could finally be the night everything comes together.
“Sunday, in a lot of ways, feels like that could finally be the moment for me.”
Even if Willow comes up short, she made it clear that she will not stop chasing the championship. Nightingale said becoming AEW Women’s World Champion feels like something already waiting for her in the future. She just has to keep moving forward until she reaches it.
“If it’s not Sunday, I’m going to make it happen. It’s going to happen.”
“It feels like something that is written ahead of me, and I’m just living my life until that day eventually comes.”
Willow Nightingale has already captured several championships during her career, but the AEW Women’s World Championship remains the biggest prize she has yet to claim. Whether it happens at Redemption or somewhere further down the road, Willow clearly believes her championship moment is coming.
