WWE has a lot of things going on as they round the final corner before SummerSlam. The July 31 episode of SmackDown kicked off on a very wild note.
Sami Zayn and Finn Balor had a segment to open up SmackDown this week at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Fans were really into things, and the promo battle included some deep cuts for longtime fans.
Suddenly, GUNTHER jumped them. He’s not happy at all that Sami Zayn and Finn Balor get to battle for a #1 contender spot at SummerSlam. Meanwhile, The Ring General is facing Nick Aldis.
Speaking of Nick Aldis, the former SmackDown GM made his way down as well. There was a massive pull-apart in the middle of the ring after that as WWE security tried to maintain some sort of order.
We will have to see how SummerSlam pans out. This was certainly a great way to hype two of the show’s biggest matches from the blue brand. Only time will tell who has their hands raised at the biggest party of the summer.
