Dralistico’s cryptic “Maybe not for long?” post suddenly makes a lot more sense, and RUSH’s own mysterious message apparently has nothing to do with leaving AEW. According to a new update from Bryan Alvarez, Dralistico’s AEW contract expires in December, while RUSH is simply stuck on the sidelines because of an expired visa.
Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer addressed both posts after they sparked plenty of questions about the future of La Facción Ingobernable. When it comes to Dralistico, Alvarez believes the message behind that handcuffed photo was pretty easy to read.
“Regarding the Dralistico and RUSH tweets we talked about last night: Dralistico’s AEW deal expires in December, and based on that tweet one would presume he wants out.”
That’s a much more specific timeline than what had previously been reported. Alvarez had earlier said Dralistico’s contract was expiring “fairly soon,” but now December appears to be the month to watch. Dralistico certainly hasn’t been subtle with the imagery either. He recently posted a photo of himself behind bars with his hands cuffed and added one very short message.
“Maybe not for long?”
Dralistico hasn’t wrestled for AEW since the June 6 Collision taping, where he teamed with RUSH and Sammy Guevara in an unsuccessful challenge for the AEW World Trios Championship. Between that lengthy absence, his December contract expiration and the handcuffed photo, Alvarez believes it’s reasonable to read the post as Dralistico wanting out.
The situation with RUSH is apparently completely different. He got fans talking on the same day when he tweeted another cryptic message: “See you 2027.” That immediately raised questions about whether RUSH might also be disappearing from AEW, but Alvarez says there’s a much simpler explanation. According to him, RUSH’s visa has expired, and he isn’t expected to have the situation resolved until the new year.
“RUSH’s tweet saying we will see him in January is entirely visa-related. His visa is expired and isn’t expected to come through until the new year.”
More importantly, Alvarez says there isn’t any indication that RUSH is unhappy with AEW or looking for an exit. His absence is reportedly a legal work issue rather than anything involving his relationship with the company.
“From all accounts it appears RUSH is happy in AEW, he just can’t legally work right now.”
That clears up what initially looked like two LFI members possibly sending exit teases at almost exactly the same time. Instead, Dralistico is the one with a contract reportedly running out in December and a post that Alvarez believes could signal he wants out, while RUSH apparently just has to wait for his visa situation to get sorted.
Dralistico still hasn’t outright announced that he’s leaving AEW, so his December expiration doesn’t guarantee an exit. However, with only a couple of months left on his deal and that “Maybe not for long?” message hanging out there, his future suddenly looks a lot more interesting than RUSH’s.
