Vince Russo has a lot riding on JCW, but he made it clear that he believes Violent Jay is the biggest creative weapon the promotion has.

During a live stream promoting his new book Total Non-Stop Agony: The Rise and Fall of TNA, Russo was asked directly by Violent Jay what he feels are JCW’s two biggest strengths and two biggest weaknesses. Russo didn’t hesitate when naming the promotion’s top strength, saying Violent Jay’s character work is on another level compared to what anyone in major wrestling is doing right now. Russo said Violent Jay might think he was just kissing up, but he insisted he has said the same thing many times before.

“I already know the two biggest strengths off the bat and he’s going to think I’m kissing his ass, but I’m not kissing his ass because I have said this a million times. There is nobody, nobody working for any major wrestling company right now. Nobody, nobody, bro, that has the creative mind to create and come up with the characters that Violent Jay comes up with. There there is nobody else.”

Russo then took things even further by comparing Violent Jay’s creative mind to Vince McMahon’s, saying even McMahon at his best could not come up with the kind of characters Jay brings to the table.

“Vince McMahon on his best day could not come up with the characters that Violent Jay comes up with.”

Russo explained that Violent Jay comes up with the full package for a character before handing it over to him as a writer. That includes the gimmick, the look, and even the gear. Russo said that kind of creative setup is a dream for someone writing wrestling television.

“So guys, you got to imagine Violent Jay comes up with a character. Violent Jay comes up with the look. Violent Jay comes up with the gear. You know, then this character gets handed over to me. Bro, do you know what a gift that is for a writer? Do you know what that gift that is to be able to write for zombies? To be able to write for the Brothers of Construction? Do do you know what a gift that is to me? So So that is number one strength.”

Russo also said JCW’s second major strength is that the company is not trying to copy WWE, AEW, MLW, GCW, or anyone else. In his eyes, JCW stands apart because nobody else is presenting wrestling the way they are.

“Number two strength, we are different. We are different. There is nobody out there right now. Bro, I don’t care if it’s MLW. I don’t care if it’s GCW. And I I’m not knocking any of these promotions. I’m not I’m just telling you, nobody’s doing what we’re doing. Nobody’s doing what we’re doing. That’s a strength.”

Russo has never been shy about blasting the modern wrestling business, but when it comes to JCW, he clearly sees Violent Jay as the guy bringing back the kind of larger-than-life characters he believes wrestling has been missing for years.
