Vince Russo thinks WWE may be sitting on an even bigger version of The Bloodline — but only if everybody in the family finally stops fighting each other. The former WWE writer believes Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Zilla Fatu and the rest of the family could become one of the most dominant factions wrestling has ever seen if WWE actually puts them all on the same side.
While speaking on The Coach and Bro Show, Russo and Jonathan Coachman were discussing Zilla Fatu’s NXT debut when the conversation turned toward the future of The Bloodline. Russo said his biggest problem with the storyline has always been pretty simple: for a group built entirely around family, somebody is almost always fighting somebody else.
“Here’s the problem I’ve always had with The Bloodline. What is it? It’s The Bloodline. And what is blood? Blood is thicker than water. But these guys have never been thicker than water. Somebody is always on the outs.”
Russo said that never made sense to him because of how closely connected the Samoan wrestling family is. Instead of constantly splitting everyone into different sides, Russo believes WWE should eventually put the entire family together and see what happens.
“I’ve always said, man, if all of these guys were on the same page and a true tribal family, who would stop them? I mean, this would be a bigger faction than the nWo.”
Coachman loved the idea and suggested WWE could build toward Roman Reigns eventually realizing he only has so much time left as a full-time main-event player. In his version of the story, Reigns would spend months trying to bring everybody together before finally leaving behind a completely united Bloodline. Russo was all for it, but said WWE would then need somebody strong enough to stand across the ring from them.
“One thousand percent, Coach. And then what you also have is what’s on that other side. Who is the opposition? And I told you, Coach, I can’t give everything away here. But I know who the opposition could be. And I mean, you want to talk about a story on top for at least two years.”
That’s when Russo dropped another idea. He teased a faction called “BIA,” short for “Brothers in Arms,” which he envisioned going to war with The Bloodline. Russo didn’t reveal who he would actually put in the group, but he believes the right lineup could turn multiple wrestlers into legitimate main-event names.
“Remember we had the Nation? I’m going to throw out the BIA. The BIA, okay? The Brothers in Arms against The Bloodline. With those personalities — and Triple H just did the promo about, ‘Can you sell more tickets?’ Yeah, bro. You do a program like this and you get the right people over, we’re going to have four to five more talents in that upper echelon without a shadow of a doubt.”
Russo’s entire pitch comes down to WWE using the massive amount of talent already connected to The Bloodline instead of constantly breaking the family apart. In his mind, a fully united Bloodline wouldn’t just give Roman Reigns another major story — it could create enough opposition and new stars to carry WWE television for years.
