Vince Russo isn’t holding back after Triple H’s recent comments about WWE creative — and he’s going straight at his position in the company.
After Triple H spoke about WrestleMania not being a “report card” and explained that WWE programming needs an “ebb and flow” throughout the year, Russo responded on his YouTube channel — and immediately took aim at that mindset. Before getting into his main criticism, Russo made it clear he completely disagrees with the idea that any WWE show should be viewed as anything less than top-tier.
“Bro, he—he did this. This guy doesn’t know what he’s doing. He does not belong in that spot. You never have the mindset, ‘Oh, this could be an okay show. This is going to be mediocre—it’s not going to be a great show.’ Bro, this guy should not be in that spot.”
Russo didn’t stop at criticizing the philosophy. He then went further, questioning why Triple H is even in his current position within WWE, making it clear that he believes Triple H never earned his spot in the company and he’s responsible for why the product sucks right now.
“The only—guys, let’s stop. Let’s stop. The guy’s in this spot because he married Stephanie. Period, end of story, bro. He’s got no business in this spot. He hasn’t been successful in this spot. He’s been a failure in this spot. The product sucks because he’s in this spot, and that’s the only reason he’s in this spot.”
From there, Russo zeroed in on the “ebb and flow” comment specifically, saying it sounds like an excuse rather than a strategy. He wrapped up by tying his criticism to his own viewing habits, claiming WWE’s direction under Triple H is the reason he stopped watching altogether.
“What is this ebb and flow? Like, it’s supposed to be good—not like—why? He’s such an idiot, bro. He’s such an idiot. He has no idea what he’s talking about. It just sounds like he’s making up excuses.
This is the guy that made me stop watching wrestling after God knows how many years. I don’t watch it anymore because of the product they were putting out. He’s responsible for that, bro. No matter what he says—ebbs and flows—there’s no backup. No matter what he wants to say, you are the guy responsible.”
Bottom line — Triple H’s comments about balancing WWE’s product didn’t sit well with Vince Russo, who sees it as the wrong mindset entirely and believes it reflects bigger issues with the company’s direction.
Do you agree with Vince Russo’s take on Triple H, or do you think WWE’s “ebb and flow” approach actually makes sense? Let us know your thoughts.
