Velveteen Dream has now denied claims that he messed up his opportunity with WWE following the allegations that led to his release back in 2021.

While speaking on Limping Ain’t Easy, Velveteen Dream talked about people claiming he ruined his opportunity with WWE. He said those comments used to hurt, but he doesn’t think he messed up.

The former WWE Superstar pointed out that he still has action figures, T-shirts, and other merch. He’s also still shown on WWE chairs and on the WWE Network, so it’s clear he was part of the company.

Dream said his character was important to WWE and helped them a lot. In fact, the company even tried to reuse his gimmick with other wrestlers. To him, that shows how much his work mattered, even after he left.

“Like people say I fumbled. That used to hurt my feelings when I read the comments. ‘You fumbled.’ You know, ‘you messed up your opportunity with WWE.’ I’m like, no I didn’t. I have action figures. I have multiple action figures. I’ve got multiple t-shirts, merch. I got proof that I was there. I’m on chairs. Like, I’m on the network, you know? They didn’t Chris Benoit me. They didn’t etch me out. Like, I can still be seen.

Like, I have a gimmick—a gimmick that benefited the company so much that they’ve attempted to recycle it as best they can with different people. And intellectual property is their gimmick, you know?”

This comes after Velveteen Dream went after his critics and even claimed he is better than WWE stars despite his 5-year absence. It’s clear that Dream is comfortable in his own skin and couldn’t care less what his detractors have to say and that’s unlikely to change anytime soon.
