Paul “Triple H” Levesque can add another job to an already ridiculous résumé — comic book contributor.
The WWE Chief Content Officer is listed among the writers and contributors for Marvel Comics’ upcoming 1000th issue of Amazing Spider-Man, which is scheduled to be released on September 30.
Levesque is credited alongside Ed McGuinness as a co-contributor on a short story titled “The Big Night.” The story is one of seven shorts included in the milestone issue, although Marvel has not revealed exactly what Levesque’s story will be about.
There is at least an obvious wrestling connection sitting right inside Spider-Man lore. Part of Peter Parker’s origin involves him entering a wrestling competition for money before later allowing a thief to escape — a decision that ultimately comes back to haunt him when that same criminal kills Uncle Ben. Whether “The Big Night” touches that piece of Spider-Man history remains unknown.
The Marvel-WWE connection also runs deeper on the corporate side. Marvel Comics is owned by Disney, which also owns ESPN. ESPN currently holds a five-year domestic rights agreement for WWE premium live events.
Triple H isn’t the only WWE name attached to the issue either. WWE Director of Character Development Rob Fee is also listed as a writer, although he is not credited to a specific story in the issue. Fee previously worked as a Marvel Comics writer from 2018 through 2022.
Triple H has spent years shaping WWE stories on television, but now he’s getting his name inside one of Marvel’s biggest milestone issues. Whether this turns into a one-off appearance or the beginning of something more in comics remains to be seen.
