Bad Bunny might’ve been a little early, but it turns out he was absolutely right—WWE is finally planning a premium live event in Mexico.

During a fiery appearance on the Flagrant podcast, Triple H let the world in on WWE’s global roadmap, and Mexico is officially on the list. “We’ll be in France and Paris. That’ll be off the charts. We’re going to go to Perth again, um, in Australia. You know, the Middle East is always off the charts. Um, you know—and we haven’t even touched South America. Go to Mexico. Like all these things that are upcoming, and we will be doing,” Triple H said.

It’s the first time WWE’s Chief Content Officer has flat-out confirmed Mexico as a destination for a future event. While 2026 is still the likely target based on recent backstage chatter, this statement from Triple H is the strongest sign yet that the company is ready to bring the spectacle south of the border.

The idea first gained traction after Bad Bunny casually dropped a comment suggesting Backlash might be coming to Mexico. The buzz was quickly shut down at the time—but now, it seems the only thing he got wrong was the year.

Backlash 2025 is still set for St. Louis on May 10, but expect the Mexico talk to ramp up even further now that it’s coming straight from The Game himself. WWE’s global strategy continues to grow, with France, Australia, and now Mexico all in the pipeline for major international shows.
