There’s another delay in the federal case involving Liv Morgan and her alleged stalker, as the court has once again pushed back the start of the trial.

According to records from the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the criminal trial for Shawn Chan has been delayed and is now scheduled to begin in June. The trial had already been postponed once before, moving from its original March date to May before this latest change.

The most recent delay came after Chan was assigned a new public defender, extending the timeline for pre-trial preparation and further slowing the legal process.

Chan is currently charged with one count of interstate domestic violence after allegedly traveling from Scarborough to Florida in May 2025. Prosecutors claim he flew to Orlando on May 26 — the same day he obtained his passport — and told customs officials that he intended to stay at the WWE Performance Center, despite the facility not offering lodging.

According to the criminal complaint, Chan later traveled several hours to Morgan’s residence, where he allegedly circled the property multiple times before entering the backyard. Authorities say he attempted to access the front door but was unsuccessful. During the visit, he allegedly picked up an air pellet left on the porch, remained near the home for hours, and ultimately left behind a handwritten note before leaving the property.

That note included his personal information and referenced online interactions, while also claiming that the visit was intended to be friendly.

Federal authorities later arrested Chan on June 3, 2025, after WWE security identified him using home surveillance footage and notified law enforcement. He was indicted on June 25 and faces up to five years in prison if convicted. Court records indicate he has remained in custody since his arrest and has been denied multiple requests for release ahead of trial.

In another recent development, Chan’s legal team attempted to introduce an insanity defense in the case. Prosecutors opposed the move, arguing that the filing came too late in the legal process.

With the trial now delayed again, the case continues to stretch beyond its original timeline, leaving the final outcome unresolved as the new June court date approaches.

Do you think repeated trial delays like this are common in high-profile federal cases, or should courts move faster when serious charges like these are involved? Let us know your thoughts.
