Trey Miguel is staying with TNA, and he even had a little scare while telling his dad the news.

While speaking on the Battleground podcast, Miguel revealed that he has officially re-signed with TNA Wrestling. He said the deal was done just days before the interview, but when he texted his father about it, one missing dash caused some confusion.

“Yeah, I do. Um, as of three days ago, I have officially re-signed with TNA. Hilariously enough, the day it happened, I went to text my dad and I said it, but I didn’t put the dash between re and sign and he called me like, ‘You resigned?’”

After that, he made it clear he’s happy with the decision. For Miguel, TNA is still home, and this new deal keeps him with the company as he approaches eight years there.

“But no, I’ve re-signed. Um, I’m happy to stay at TNA. It’s always been home for me. This will be, this coming October, will make eight years, you know. So, let’s see if we can get to 10.”

That update hits a little harder considering Miguel almost walked away from wrestling earlier this year after his AEW release. He previously admitted that he came very close to quitting and felt like his dream had died as quickly as it came true.

“I came very close to quitting. My heart was broken. I felt like wrestling hated me to be quite honest. I hadn’t felt a hurt or a loss like that in a very long time. I didn’t answer calls or texts and I spent a little over a week contemplating what’s next. I felt like my dream died as quickly as it was realized.”

But when TNA called, Miguel said the choice was easy. He had already spent years with the company, and returning felt like going back home.

“TNA has always been my home. This is now my eighth year with the company, and it always feels good to know that you’re welcome home, that home misses you, and that home wants you. So the moment I heard from them, it was a no-brainer for me.”

Bottom line, Trey Miguel went from nearly quitting wrestling to officially locking in a new TNA deal. He’s not resigned — he re-signed — and now he’s hoping to ride this run all the way to 10 years with the company.
