Torrie Wilson is opening up about becoming a mother at 50, admitting she had to fight through her own fears before taking the step that changed her life.

The WWE Hall of Famer spoke about motherhood during an appearance on the Duke Loves Rasslin podcast ahead of her scheduled appearance at River City Wrestling Con. Wilson revealed that she and her husband welcomed their daughter through surrogacy after she found love later in life.

Wilson did not pretend the road to motherhood was simple. She acknowledged that some of her past relationships were not leading her toward the family life she wanted, but said meeting her husband changed that.

“It was a doozy at first. Um, I had a surrogate and um I I met my husband later in life. I made not some very wise decisions when it came to love over the years that were not conducive to ending up with a family or being happy.”

Wilson said her husband understood the reality of their age, but was willing to move forward once she made it clear she wanted to become a mother.

“Thank God I met my husband and uh, you know, he was kind of at the point where he was like, you know, uh, we’re getting up there in age, but if you want a baby, then we’ll we’ll do it.”

The former WWE star also admitted that the early months were a major adjustment. At the time of the interview, Wilson said her daughter was nearly nine months old, and she was honest about how difficult the first stretch of parenting was for her.

“And of course, he’s so appreciative now that I pushed back on it and, you know, said we got to do this. And it’s uh, gosh, the first—she’s almost nine months—the first 6 months, I was like, what the heck did I just do? Oh my gosh. Like, you know, it took a while for me to start getting the hang of things.”

Wilson said the biggest battle came before her daughter arrived, when she found herself questioning whether becoming a mother at 50 was the right move. Instead of allowing that fear to make the decision for her, she chose the life she wanted.

“But I I’m so glad I took this journey and I didn’t listen to, you know, all the background noise in my head saying you’re too old for this. You know, you’re going to be a grandma’s age when she’s in, you know, middle school and all this.”

“There was a lot of that noise in my head and I just thought, you know, I’ve never been one that to follow the path that everybody thinks you should follow. And um I’m—this is my life and I’m going to do what I want.”

For Wilson, turning 50 did not become a reason to back away from motherhood. It became part of a new chapter where she could redefine what that stage of life looked like for her.

“So, you know, why not make 50 a year that I became a mom and I’m I’m staying fit and I’m being strong and, you know, I’m just carving out what a different type of 50 is.”

Wilson spent years in front of wrestling fans as one of WWE’s most recognizable women, but this is a much more personal victory. After building a career around performing, fitness and staying in the public eye, she is now sharing the side of her life that took real courage away from the ring.
