Mick Foley’s AEW appearances won’t be few and far between after all.
Just weeks after the WWE Hall of Famer made his surprise debut for the company, Tony Khan says fans should expect to see a lot more of him—even if he won’t be showing up every Wednesday night.
Speaking on the Battleground Podcast, Khan revealed that Foley is expected to become a regular presence in AEW programming after making memorable first impressions at both Double or Nothing and Beach Break.
“Fittingly, these are two of the best nights in the history of the company so he picked two great nights to make his debut on pay-per-view with AEW at Double or Nothing, and on TV with AEW at Beach Break. So when Mick is in the house, you know good things are gonna happen, and Mick’s gonna be a more regular presence in the show I think. Not necessarily every single week, but, I’m excited to have Mick come in more and more.”
While Khan stopped short of saying Foley will have a weekly television role, his comments make it clear that AEW sees the Hall of Famer as more than just an occasional special attraction. Instead, it sounds like the company plans to work him into programming whenever the right opportunity comes along.
The update also follows Foley’s recent explanation of how his AEW run came together. The hardcore legend revealed that he’d known Khan for roughly 15 years and had stayed in touch long before signing with the company, often reaching out simply because he enjoyed watching AEW. When his agent eventually asked whether he’d be interested in speaking with Khan about joining the promotion, Foley agreed—and those conversations ultimately led to his arrival.
With Khan now confirming that Foley’s appearances are expected to become more frequent, it appears AEW’s plans for the WWE Hall of Famer extend well beyond a pair of memorable debut appearances.
