Tony Khan isn’t interested in picking a fight with Goldberg, but he did admit the WWE Hall of Famer sends mixed messages.

While appearing on Fightful Overbooked, Khan was asked about Goldberg after one of the hosts joked about Bret Hart calling him “Bill Goldberg.” Instead of bringing up Goldberg’s past criticism of AEW, Khan took the high road and made it clear he has no personal issues with the former WCW icon: “I like Bill. I like Bill.”

That said, Khan couldn’t ignore the fact that Goldberg’s public comments haven’t always matched the way he treats him in person. While Goldberg has taken shots at AEW over the years, Khan says that’s never been his experience whenever they’ve crossed paths.

“Bill’s opinion on me seems to change. I’ve heard Bill say different, but whenever he’s around me, he’s very nice.”

Khan didn’t speculate on why there’s a difference between Goldberg’s public comments and their private interactions. Instead, he left it at that, making it clear that every encounter they’ve had has been friendly despite the criticism Goldberg has directed toward AEW in the past.

Do you think Tony Khan handled the Goldberg question well, or were you expecting a stronger response? Let us know in the comments below.
