Thunder Rosa is finally speaking out about her recovery and what fans can expect when she makes her AEW return.

The former AEW Women’s World Champion has been absent from television since her appearance at AEW All In: Texas back in July, where she competed in the Casino Gauntlet match. Following that bout, Rosa quietly disappeared from programming, leading to fan speculation about her status. Now, she’s ready to set the record straight.

During a recent interview with Midnight Movie Crash, Thunder Rosa opened up about her time away, calling her wrestling career “a journey” that’s helped her embrace her roots on both sides of the border.

“It’s been, like I said, a journey — getting to celebrate my culture in America and now being able to celebrate my culture in Mexico has been really fun. I’m also doing a lot of work with the NFL and the Texans, and that’s been a lot of fun too.”

While the exact nature of her injury was not disclosed, Rosa confirmed that her rehab is going extremely well and hinted that her in-ring return is right around the corner.

“Right now, I’m just focusing on continuing my rehab from the injuries I had a couple of months ago. And I have really good news — everything is going really well. So, I’m expecting to return to the ring fairly soon.”

AEW fans have been patiently waiting for La Mera Mera’s comeback, and it sounds like they won’t have to wait much longer. With Rosa teasing her return and recovery on track, the door is wide open for a major AEW moment when she steps back into the ring.
