All Elite Wrestling brought Double or Nothing to Louis Armstrong Stadium with several championships on the line. While the AEW World Title match had a major stipulation attached to it, the women’s division also had a lot at stake with a four-way match for the AEW Women’s World Championship.
Thekla defended the title against Kris Statlander, Jamie Hayter, and Hikaru Shida. All four women had momentum going into the match, and the format kept the action moving from the opening bell. Thekla entered as champion, but Statlander’s power, Hayter’s strikes, and Shida’s experience kept the title picture open throughout the match.
This match was Thekla’s toughest task as AEW Women’s World Champion. After all, everyone in the match was gunning for her. Thekla also didn’t have to be involved in the finish to lose her title.
At one point, everyone was down on the mat. Fans cheered them on, and eventually, all four women were having it out in the middle of the ring. The match kept going, and then Thekla nailed a stomp to retain her title. This was a hard-fought victory, and it only cemented Thekla’s place on top of the women’s division.
