Swerve Strickland just sparked new questions about his AEW status after posting — and then quickly deleting — a cryptic message about not being on television.
On May 11, 2026, the former AEW World Champion took to Twitter with a short but very noticeable post questioning why he hasn’t been featured more prominently on AEW programming lately.
“Time to start asking questions why swerve aint on tv”
The tweet immediately got fans talking because even though Swerve technically returned during the April 29 edition of AEW Dynamite in a pre-taped video package targeting Bandido, he still hasn’t appeared in front of a live AEW crowd since his second match against Kenny Omega roughly six weeks ago.
Then things got even stranger. Not long after posting the message, Swerve deleted the tweet entirely — leaving fans wondering whether the post was frustration, storyline teasing, or something else altogether. The deleted tweet comes only days after Swerve publicly explained what kept him away from AEW television for over a month.
While speaking to Inside the Ring, Strickland revealed he had been busy filming promotional content tied to DC Comics and Warner Bros., while also working on music-related projects and appearances surrounding the NFL Draft.
“Yeah, I was just filming some promotional stuff for DC, Warner Bros. So that’s what I was doing, basically, and some other music things. I also did the NFL Draft as well.”
Still, despite those outside projects, the deleted tweet has now reignited speculation about why one of AEW’s biggest stars has barely appeared on live television since losing to Omega.
Especially because AEW already reintroduced him into the Bandido storyline weeks ago without fully following up in front of live audiences afterwards. At this point, it’s unclear whether the deleted message reflected genuine frustration or was simply Swerve stirring conversation intentionally online.
Bottom line — Swerve Strickland may have explained where he’s been lately, but after deleting a tweet openly questioning his AEW television absence, fans are now wondering if there’s more going on behind the scenes than initially thought.

Do you think Swerve Strickland should already be back in a major featured role on AEW television, or is AEW taking the right approach by slowly rebuilding him after the Kenny Omega loss? Drop your thoughts below.
