Baron Corbin

Once upon a time, Corbin was the next big thing. He was booked so well last year, and many were sure that he would be a champion soon. One win at Money in the Bank all but guaranteed a spot in WWE’s list of champions. Alas, this was not the case. For reasons we may never know (although many suspect it’s because Corbin thinks concussions are bad for your health), Corbin lost his cash-in.

Still, he’s far from a Jack Swagger type scenario where he just disappears. His insertion into the US Title Picture is hardly the death knell that many make it out to be. I’m one of a few people who wouldn’t be surprised if he wins the US Championship from AJ Styles.

It’s not even going to be a bad match. Corbin works well when he’s booked properly (think him v. Kalisto at TLC last year). And it’s not like he and AJ have bad matches (their Triple Threats were quite excellent). Point is, he’s for sure going to win some gold soon.
