Sunil Singh is back at the hockey rink after an in-ring emergency left him fearing for his life. The former WWE star says his collapsed lung is healing, giving him some welcome news as he continues recovering from the frightening injury.
Singh shared the news in a new social media post, explaining that his trauma doctor had reviewed his latest X-rays. He made it clear he isn’t fully recovered, but the results show progress.
“Back at the hockey rink today with some positive news: I am not 100% yet, however, my trauma doctor said, X-rays show I’m on the right path to recovery & my collapsed lung is healing. 🙏🏽”
There is still more medical work ahead before Singh has a complete picture of his recovery. For now, he’s embracing time with his family and getting back to being a hockey dad.
“I have a few more tests to complete and until then, Hockey dad life in full mode 🏒🇨🇦💪🏾”
That return to the rink carries extra meaning because his son was at the center of his thoughts when the injury happened. In his original account of suffering a collapsed lung during a match, Singh described struggling to breathe and worrying about whether he would get to share those moments with his child again. ringsidenews.com Singh previously explained that the impact came from a move he had performed countless times. As he struggled to understand what was happening, his mind went straight to his family.
“I didn’t want to die and the only thing I could think of at the time was ‘How will I take my son to hockey and get onto the ice with him?’”
The injury left Singh gasping for air during the match and unable to get to his feet once he reached the backstage area. He said hospital X-rays revealed his right lung had collapsed, and he credited Pure Power Wrestling, the locker room and his brother with helping get medical assistance to the venue.
His latest statement doesn’t announce a wrestling return date or say he has been cleared to compete. It does offer an encouraging change from his first account: his doctor says the lung is healing, and Singh is back enjoying a part of family life he feared he might lose.
For Singh, being at a hockey rink now means much more than another day on the parenting schedule. The ring can wait while he finishes his tests and works toward getting healthy—and this is the kind of progress fans will be glad to hear.
