Seth Rollins may already be lined up for a massive program this Summer, as he’s expected to win the King of the Ring tournament.
While speaking during a Self Made Session, Self Made Pro revealed that Rollins is currently expected to win the tournament. It was further noted that WWE’s present plan is for Rollins to go on and face Roman Reigns at SummerSlam for the WWE World Heavyweight Title.
“Seth Rollins is going to win King of the Ring. Today I was just talking to somebody about the King of the Ring situation, and what they said to me was there are a lot of moving parts. There’s a lot up in the air right now for SummerSlam, for whatever reason. What they told me was that, right now, the plan is for Seth Rollins to win the tournament and face Roman Reigns. So that’s what I was told.”
Rollins is scheduled to compete in a King of the Ring tournament Fatal 4-Way on the June 8 episode of RAW in Paris, France, where he will face Je’Von Evans, Ricky Saints, and Talla Tonga. Oba Femi already advanced in the tournament during the June 1 episode of RAW.
On the Friday Night SmackDown side, Jey Uso, LA Knight, Royce Keys, and Finn Bálor are set for one Fatal 4-Way, while Dominik Mysterio, Bron Breakker, Trick Williams, and Damian Priest will compete in another.
If Rollins does win the tournament, a match with Roman Reigns would instantly become one of WWE’s biggest SummerSlam directions. Their history runs deep, and with Reigns still sitting at the top as World Heavyweight Champion, Rollins winning King of the Ring could put him right back in the title picture. For now, the tournament still has to play out, but Rollins may be the one to watch as WWE builds toward SummerSlam.
