Finn Bálor is officially ready to start his SmackDown run as the Prince of WWE will be making his in-ring debut on the blue brand next week.

During the June 5 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, WWE aired a vignette for Bálor, where he made it clear he is coming to the blue brand with something to prove. After accomplishing plenty in WWE already, Bálor said he is now on SmackDown to take it all.

WWE also confirmed that Bálor will make his SmackDown in-ring debut on the June 12 episode. He will compete in a Fatal Four-Way King of the Ring qualifying match against Jey Uso, LA Knight, and Royce Keys. The match gives Bálor a major opportunity right out of the gate, as a win would send him forward in the King of the Ring tournament and immediately place him in the mix on Friday nights.

This comes after Dave Meltzer explained on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE moved Bálor to SmackDown to separate him from Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh following their recent RAW storyline.

“I never heard anything about a draft. The idea is they just want to get him away from Dominik Mysterio and JD. He beat JD, and if he stays on Raw, how does he not work with those guys? So they just figured they’re done with that—they’re done with Finn Bálor doing that—and they wanted to give him a fresh start.”

Now, that fresh start begins with a huge King of the Ring qualifier. Bálor may have left RAW behind, but SmackDown is wasting no time putting him in a high-stakes match and so we’ll have to see how he will fare next week.
