We now know which two men will fight for the AEW Continental Challenge Cup at All In London. The tournament has officially reached its final stage after the latest semifinal went down during this week’s Dynamite tapings.
During the tapings for the August 25 edition of AEW Dynamite, Nigel McGuinness defeated Kyle O’Reilly to punch his ticket to the final at Wembley Stadium on August 30, while Moxley beat Claudio Castagnoli. Waiting for him there will be Jon Moxley, making Nigel McGuinness vs. Jon Moxley the official Continental Challenge Cup final at AEW All In.
McGuinness has had to work for this one. He entered his quarterfinal against CMLL World Heavyweight Champion Hechicero while still dealing with an ankle injury suffered during his first-round match against Katsuyori Shibata.
Hechicero went after that ankle throughout the match, but McGuinness managed to survive and eventually caught him in a Guillotine to force the submission and keep his tournament run alive. Moxley had his own fight on the August 19 Dynamite when he faced Jay White. White came close after hitting the Blade Runner, only for Moxley to eventually catch him in a Rear Naked Choke and submit him.
Now the bracket has been reduced to two. McGuinness has already fought through an injured ankle and survived Hechicero and O’Reilly, but beating Moxley at Wembley would finish the whole thing.
