Sol Ruca has spent her WWE career showing fans her fun-loving side, but she’s definitely curious about what would happen if she went in the complete opposite direction. The NXT star admitted she’d love to experiment with being a heel, even though she’s previously been told it might never happen.
Speaking on The Finish, Ruca was asked whether she could eventually turn heel and evolve her character beyond the bubbly babyface fans have gotten to know. Ruca said it’s something she’d absolutely be interested in trying.
“I have no idea. I think I would love to be able to try that.”
The problem is that apparently some people have a hard time imagining her as the bad guy. Ruca revealed she’s previously been told she probably won’t ever turn heel because her natural personality makes it difficult to picture.
“I have been told in the past that I most likely will not be heel ever because of just how I am naturally. I am quite a bubbly and, like, [likable] person.”
That doesn’t mean Ruca has completely given up on showing fans a darker side. She believes it might simply take the right person or storyline to finally bring it out of her.
“So, I don’t know. I feel like it’s going to take a very special person to really get that side out of me, but I guess we’re just going to have to wait and see.”
Ruca didn’t hint that a heel turn is actually being planned, so fans probably shouldn’t expect her personality to suddenly change overnight. Still, she’s clearly open to getting outside her comfort zone if WWE ever gives her the chance.
For someone whose personality has apparently been the biggest reason people can’t picture her as a villain, that could actually make the turn even more interesting if WWE eventually pulls the trigger. Ruca just needs to find that “special person” capable of bringing out a side fans haven’t seen before.
