Sol Ruca is still riding high after winning the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship, but she has not fully watched the match that gave her the title.
Ruca appeared on TMZ’s Inside the Ring after defeating Becky Lynch in Italy. During the interview, she was asked whether she had watched the match back after such a huge moment in her career. Ruca admitted she had not seen the full match yet, partly because her schedule has been packed with travel, media, and WWE commitments. Ruca also explained that watching her matches back can sometimes become a tricky thing because she starts picking herself apart instead of enjoying the moment.
“So I have not watched the whole match back. I feel like sometimes I do watch the matches back and then sometimes I don’t. It kind of just depends on how I feel about it because sometimes if I feel really good about the match and I think the crowd was reacting really, really well, but then I watch it back and I start nitpicking everything where the standard person that’s watching isn’t going to be doing that.”
Ruca said she tries to find a balance between learning from her matches and not ruining the feeling of a big performance by overanalyzing every detail.
“So I need to take it for what it is and not for like really nitpicking myself. I think there is a good balance with that. So sometimes I do like to just have a match, enjoy it. I had a lot of fun so like it is what it is. But then, you know, obviously I do like to go back and kind of watch and give myself critiques and ask for, you know, criticism and help with that.”
Ruca made it clear that she still wants to watch the match in full when she gets the chance, but her schedule has made that difficult.
“So, I haven’t been had time to watch the whole match back yet, but I do want to see it back. But yeah, I’ve just been very busy.”
The title win over Becky Lynch was a major step in Ruca’s WWE main roster career. Still, her comments show that she is not just focused on the celebration. She is also thinking about how to keep improving while learning when to let herself enjoy the moment.
