Rollins had trolled fans about his opponent prior to the match. The Monday Night Messiah tweeted gifs of current and part-time performers including Mustafa Ali and Shane McMahon.
Fans took to Twitter following Saturday’s match to share their excitement over the fact that Rollins opponent didn’t turn out to be Shane. Had that been the case, the IWC would have had a meltdown.
Ringside News exclusively reported that WWE had nothing planned for Shane to do at WrestleMania 38 following his Royal Rumble stint. The McMahon son was in Dallas for the Hall of Fame ceremony and the Mania event itself.
We also exclusively reported that Shane had a disastrous power trip at the 2022 Royal Rumble pay-per-view event that ultimately culminated in his closely-guarded departure from the WWE.

WWE really missed the ball of having Shane McMahon come out before Cody Rhodes. Just imagine the reaction it would have got 🤣🤣 #WrestleMania

He kept saying Shane would face Seth Rollins and now I'm gonna cry because he didn't. #WON #Wrestlemania
I knew it had to be cody or at least someone big when they used the Pyro. Veer, Elias, shit even Shane McMahon isn't worth that much Pyro. #WrestleMania #CodyRhodes #Night1 pic.twitter.com/OPg3LasDhy
