Scott Hall made serious money during his run as Razor Ramon, helped launch the nWo and spent decades as one of wrestling’s biggest names — but according to his ex-wife Dana Hall, there wasn’t much left when he died.
Dana made the revelation while speaking on Monte & The Pharaoh, after the hosts asked what Scott’s financial situation actually looked like at the end of his life. The question came after Dana discussed the complicated final years of their relationship and explained that the two still occasionally spoke and saw each other at major family events despite being divorced. Then the conversation shifted to Scott’s money.
The hosts asked whether Scott had managed to save enough from his wrestling career to leave his family financially secure — or whether his story ended like plenty of others in the business, with the money basically gone. Dana didn’t sugarcoat her answer.
“When he died, he had no money. He had put money in a safety deposit box for the kids and some stashed—he had some in a bank account for Cody and Cassidy.”
Dana said there was also a life insurance policy, but beyond that, she says Scott didn’t leave behind some massive fortune from his years at the top of the wrestling business.
“And other than that, and then he had a life insurance policy, which I got that. And other than that, he hadn’t—he didn’t have anything.”
The answer clearly caught the hosts off guard, with one of them responding, “Wow.” Dana then drove the point home one more time.
“He didn’t have anything.”
That’s a pretty staggering ending financially for a guy who spent years working at the highest levels of WWE and WCW. Scott Hall became one of the defining stars of the Monday Night War and helped change the entire wrestling business, but according to Dana, very little of that wrestling money was still sitting there when his life came to an end.
Scott Hall left behind a massive wrestling legacy, but Dana’s account shows that fame and huge paydays don’t always translate into long-term financial security. For all the money that passed through Hall’s hands during his career, she says there simply wasn’t much left when everything was over.
