Scott D’Amore already made one serious attempt to purchase TNA, and he has no plans to take another swing at it.
While appearing on The Ariel Helwani Show, D’Amore was asked about talk that TNA could potentially be available for sale. He quickly made it clear that he has not spoken with Anthem Sports about another deal and is not interested in reopening negotiations.
“Haven’t talked to anybody. No interest.”
D’Amore previously attempted to purchase TNA after Anthem removed him from his position in early 2024. He began contacting potential investors immediately after finishing his final television tapings and assembled a formal offer within a matter of days. He still believes the bid gave Anthem a fair price for the company and even included extra value because TNA had just completed its major rebrand from Impact Wrestling.
“I think I tabled what was a really fair offer. I put together an offer in a matter of days that I think fairly represented what the company was worth and paid a little bit for the excitement of having just rebranded.”
D’Amore went even further by admitting his group may have offered more than TNA’s financial numbers justified at the time.
“I think there’s an argument, hard-numbers-wise, that our number was a little heavy.”
Anthem rejected the proposal, leaving D’Amore to move forward with Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling while TNA continued without him. D’Amore also believes his removal damaged TNA’s momentum. He said the company had several ideas in development for the remainder of 2024 and claimed it took TNA about six months to find its footing after Anthem made the change.
“I really think that if we would have executed from Hard to Kill to the end of 2024, we had a lot of good things in the pipeline that I think would have worked.”
“I think them taking me out—and that’s their decision—hurt them. I think they spent six months trying to get their feet back, and then ultimately found their footing.”
D’Amore still stands behind the offer he made, but that door is now closed. Even if Anthem decides it wants to sell TNA, he does not sound interested in returning to the negotiating table.
