Roman Reigns is fired up now that the official Street Fighter movie trailer is finally here, and he made sure fans knew exactly when the film is hitting theaters.
After the full trailer dropped, giving fans their first extended look at the upcoming video game adaptation, Reigns quickly shared the footage on social media. The WWE star, who is set to appear in the movie as Akuma, kept his reaction short and straight to the point while promoting the film’s release date.
Reigns took to Twitter to share the trailer and deliver a message that matched the action-packed tone of the franchise.
“FIGHT! Watch the Official Trailer for #StreetFighterMovie, hitting theaters everywhere October 16.”
The new trailer runs nearly three minutes and is packed with action and references pulled straight from the long-running video game series. Fans can spot moments like Ken smashing a car — a clear nod to the classic bonus stages from Street Fighter II — along with Ryu powering up his signature Hadoken attack. Chun-Li appears to play a major role in bringing fighters together, while M. Bison once again takes center stage as the story’s main threat.
The cast features Noah Centineo as Ken and Andrew Koji as Ryu, along with Jason Momoa portraying Blanka and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson playing Balrog. WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes is also part of the film, adding another wrestling name to the project alongside Reigns.
This marks the third live-action attempt to bring Street Fighter to theaters. The 1994 film became known for Raul Julia’s performance as M. Bison, while the 2009 Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li failed to connect with many fans. With a bigger cast and stronger ties to the games, this new version is aiming to deliver something closer to what longtime fans expect.
