D’Lo Brown gave his view on the long-running tension between The Rock and Triple H, and he did not exactly sugarcoat it.
During the Coach and Bro Show, Coach said he believes part of the issue with The Rock’s WWE involvement comes down to his relationship with Triple H. Coach said he had been in rooms with them before and believes there is more going on than what fans see when cameras are rolling.
D’Lo responded by saying The Rock and Triple H have always been competitive, but he also drew a line between their on-screen rivalry and what he believes exists behind the scenes.
“I could see Seven Bucks trying to buy WWE and Rock being the take owning it all. Um, and yes, let’s go back to one more thing you said. Triple H and Rocky don’t get along. They’re highly competitive. And that’s on camera.”
Then D’Lo made it even clearer, referring to them by their real names. D’Lo stopped short of going deep into old backstage stories, but he made it clear that not everyone in wrestling is close behind the curtain.
“Now, Paul and Dwayne don’t like each other. And they are definitely oil and water. So, there’s the onscreen angst and then there’s the real backstage angst.”
“And it’s not my story to tell. Just know everybody doesn’t get along.”
That is the kind of line that will definitely get fans talking. The Rock and Triple H have a long history going back to their rise through WWE, and if D’Lo’s take is accurate, some of that competitive fire never really went away.
