Road Dogg says his political beliefs cost him an opportunity with AEW. He isn’t blaming Tony Khan for exposing them either; he’s pointing directly at Dave Meltzer.

The accusation came out on August 19 after Road Dogg’s praise of Austin and Colten Gunn turned into an argument with Meltzer. Road Dogg had accused Tony Khan of “sleeping” on The Gunns before sarcastically responding to Meltzer’s involvement.

“My bad Dave, I forgot, when it comes to wrestling, ONLY your opinion matters 5 star tweet sir! #GOTME #OUCH #SUCKIT”

Then a fan told Road Dogg that publicly arguing like this probably wasn’t a great idea if he wanted an AEW job. That’s when Road Dogg dropped something considerably bigger, revealing that he was already turned away by AEW because of his politicla beliefs.

“Actually, I was turned away because of my political/ core beliefs That happened IN AMERICA I didn’t donate to or vote for Trump, BUT his old man did, why was I punished?”

But Road Dogg wasn’t finished. He turned his attention back to Meltzer and claimed the longtime wrestling journalist already knew exactly what happened.

“Do you want to know David, cuz you’re the one that reported it all. Tell us all right now David you can’t hurt me dude, I’m not scared of you and your social warrior friends. I’m unemployed and living my life. Show the world why David and I’ll live on my side.”

Then came the accusation at the center of everything. Road Dogg claimed Meltzer took screenshots of his conservative social-media posts and used them to get his opportunity canceled.

“This is the guy that screenshot my social media Post (I am conservative) and then used it to get my opportunity canceled. I feel differently than a lot of you. Im not sorry for who I am and how I was raised”

Road Dogg didn’t provide evidence showing Meltzer was responsible for AEW canceling an opportunity, so that remains his allegation. But he certainly isn’t being vague about what he believes happened.

His recent TNA situation makes this news even more notable. Road Dogg had been heavily linked with a backstage role there before reports revealed that negotiations had stalled. Now, one argument about The Gunns has unexpectedly ended with Road Dogg revealing that he believes another wrestling opportunity was already taken away from him—and he’s publicly blaming Meltzer for helping make it happen.
