Eric Bischoff’s claim that Dixie Carter was a better wrestling booker than Tony Khan didn’t sit well with Ricochet, and the AEW star wasted no time firing back in a big way.
Instead of arguing the point, Ricochet logged onto Twitter, looked at Bischoff’s comments, and buried them with six words, going so far as to call Easy E an idiot.
“So Bischoff really is an idiot? Damn.”
That post didn’t come out of nowhere. Bischoff had just spent several minutes on his 83 Weeks podcast tearing into Tony Khan, arguing the AEW President has one problem Dixie Carter never did—he thinks he’s a great booker.
While Bischoff admitted Carter wasn’t booking TNA herself, he said that’s exactly why she was more successful. She knew where her strengths ended, handed creative to wrestling people and, in his opinion, got far better results than Khan has.
“That’s why I think she’s a better booker than Tony Khan because she recognized what her weaknesses were… whereas Tony thinks he’s a good booker, and clearly is not. Tony Khan doesn’t know what he doesn’t know.”
Then Bischoff twisted the knife. He argued AEW doesn’t need better wrestlers—it needs better booking. In fact, he went as far as saying today’s AEW would probably love to have the kind of television TNA was producing for years, insisting the difference wasn’t the talent in the ring but the person calling the shots behind the scenes.
“AEW’s issue is not a talent issue. It’s a Tony Khan issue… Tony Khan wants the same thing, but he’s not willing to surround himself, or listen to the people that he is surrounded by, to help him achieve it.”
Ricochet, though, wasn’t interested in a back-and-forth with him at all. As far as he was concerned, Bischoff’s entire argument wasn’t worth a debate—it was worth a six-word insult. Whether Bischoff responds is another story. But if there was any doubt about how at least one AEW star felt about Bischoff’s comments, Ricochet erased it with a single post.
