Rhea Ripley isn’t sugarcoating it—2024 was a rough year, and she’s not afraid to say it.

During a recent appearance on Wild World of Sports, the former Women’s World Champion opened up about a stretch of physical and emotional turmoil that derailed her momentum in WWE. Between multiple injuries and forced time away from the ring, Ripley called it what it was: a personal warzone.

“Injuries teach you a lot about yourself, and 2024 definitely tested me,” Ripley admitted. “Dealing with that AC sprain was brutal. I couldn’t do the things I love—going to the gym, holding my dogs—it was mentally and physically draining. I was stuck training legs every day, and it felt endless.”

It all started shortly after WrestleMania 40 when Ripley was taken out by Liv Morgan in a backstage attack. The incident led to a grade three AC joint sprain, forcing her to vacate her title and miss months of in-ring action.

Just when she started regaining her footing, disaster struck again. “I finally made it back and got the chance to chase the world title again—then boom, I broke my eye socket,” she recalled. “Injuries were coming from all angles.” That broken orbital bone meant she had to compete in the WarGames match at Survivor Series 2024 wearing a protective mask.

But through the chaos, Ripley says the hardship gave her something even stronger than gold. “What I’ve learned is that I can push through anything,” she declared. “And that’s a really strong thing to realize.”

Rhea Ripley didn’t just survive 2024—she took every punch, every setback, and still came out swinging. From losing her title to battling through pain with a mask on her face, Mami proved she’s built different. If the injuries couldn’t break her, 2025 better be ready, because Ripley’s coming back meaner, tougher, and with a score to settle.
