Rey Fenix made a major championship decision during AAA Ola de Calor 2026. After the scheduled number-one contender’s match failed to produce a winner, Fenix decided he would defend his AAA World Cruiserweight Championship against all three competitors at TripleMania 34.
Jack Cartwheel, Nathan Frazer, and Mini Vikingo battled in a Triple Threat Match to determine Fenix’s next challenger. The fast-paced contest ended in a time-limit draw, leaving AAA without a clear number-one contender.
Fenix then came to the ring and praised all three wrestlers for their performances. Instead of choosing one opponent, the reigning champion announced that he wanted to face Cartwheel, Frazer, and Vikingo together during TripleMania 34 Night Two. The decision turns the Cruiserweight Championship match into a Fatal Four-Way and gives Fenix three very different challengers to deal with in Mexico City.

Fenix could have demanded that AAA find him one challenger, but he instead chose to put himself in the most dangerous position possible. With four high-flying wrestlers fighting for the championship, the TripleMania showdown could steal the entire weekend.
